Hi there!
As I will be spending a weekend in Germany I am in need of some Autobahn suggestions.I will be travelling from Amsterdam to Koblenz. Do any of you, especially the German members, have some fast tracks in mind (bitte ohne Stau, Strassenarbeiten oder Polizei) where I can use the full potential of the RS4.
So, what would be the best way to get there and what Autobahn or fast cornering tracks are there to be found in the neighbourhood of Koblenz thay I can try best.

Need some Autobahn suggestions
Re: Need some Autobahn suggestions
Thats a difficult one as the main road to Koblenz is the A61 which is substantially restricted. The other route is the A3 but this is a nightmare if you're travelling during the day as there is almost always stau around Düsseldorf / Köln. However, once you get south of Köln it clears quite nicely and then is all three lane. The only disadvantage with the 3 is its quite twisty in parts with blind corners which means a realistic safe maximum is about 220 kmh. However, given your destination thats what I'd recommend.

Stau = The german word for about 100.000 cars in a line or two.
But what I meant is beware as stops can come very sudden.
Check the rear view mirror often for upcoming traffic and don't forget to look forward. Don't but do have fun!

Re: Need some Autobahn suggestions
the 'oberhausen-straight'? i've read it some dutch magazines that that's the place to be for dutch drivers...
i happen to drive there myself a couple of week ago, when i went from utrecht to frankfurt (for the IAA )and it looks like it has potential, and there was no traffic at all.
i do think it's not the best way to go from from amsterdam to koblenz though...

Just returned from Germany. Went up to the Oberhausen straight and touched 270. Not much traffic, but windy and a lot of leafs flying around. Good flat track. I'll be back here. Incredibly how slow it is if you're down to 120 when you cross the Dutch border (police waiting there).
