Lufthansa Cargo do the F1 team transport and flew car magazine's Smart car to the US recently.

That might be quite expensive.
How about a group of standard car-transport trucks, just like the ones to deliver new cars to dealers ?

Re: this might sound stupid but does anyone know how..
that was one idea... but this way all the cars arrive in heathrow at the same time as us....was thinking how much would it cost to charter a russian ilushyn transporter. basic but it would do the job.
Re: this might sound stupid but does anyone know how..
I somehow doubt they would arrive the same time Jon, unless you hung around out there for a couple of days.
For a start I would expect they would need to have most (if not all) of their petrol drained. This is certainly the case for shipping bikes anyway.
Cheers,
John.

Too many toys, not enough time
Re: this might sound stupid but does anyone know how..
worth a try...driving back was a drain after driving there so quick
Re: this might sound stupid but does anyone know how..
Call one of the large forwarders (e.g., Exel , DHL Danzas Air & Ocean , Tibbett & Britten ) to get a quote, then you can assume that going directly with the air charter will be 10-15% less, however hassle with insurances, customs clearance etc. you would have to do.
There are also a few companies specialized on car transport
like Autologic, Brit European Transport Ltd. Inchcape Automotive , Richard Lawson Automotive Logistics Group, to name only the UK based ones.
Good luck and keep us posted!!
