Octavia RS

On my usual slalom course on the way to work, I caught up with an Octavia RS. He was doing the same thing, although IMO was willing to accept more risk than me.

I don't know if it was chipped, but I must say I thought it was damn quick to overtake.

I did surprise him, however, as one time he overtook and I followed him a bit later. I rapidly caught up with him and had to brake. He must then have noticed me and accelerated, and of course I easily matched him.

I think he's just realised that he is NOT driving the fastest car on that route!

We (or rather he) did have one scare though. Whereas I always pull all the way to the left after overtaking (the road is single carriageway but more than 3 cars width in total), he tended to stay near the middle of the road.

At one point after a high-speed overtake, a long artic. came towards us on the other side of the road, whilst a small van was very slowly overtaking it (blind!) - literally driving like a scalectric car in the middle of the road. The Octavia had to pull to the left sharpish in order to avoid it.
