Having installed KW Coilover suspension V1's, I'm looking into uprated Sway Bars in order to compensate for the removal of the factory DRC setup.
I believe the general consensus from the likes of 034 Motorsport is to stick with the OEM Sway bar at the front (albeit renewing the bushes), and replace the OEM rear Sway Bar setup with the 034 version.
Hopefully, their uprated 034 rear sway bar should serve to improve the ride quality, whilst being effective at combating body roll when combined with KW V1 coilovers.
That being said - has anyone had any experience of the above setup?
Aware H&R also do a Sway Bar Front + Rear setup, but have heard the ride quality suffers on normal roads (something I would rather avoid)
Also, in any case - can someone please provide the Torque specs for the Factory bolts for the Front and Rear Sway Bars ?
After replacing the leaky Factory DRC shocks .. I had another surprise when I recently went to replace the Fuel Filter:
Sway Bars suspension + DRC delete
Re: Sway Bars suspension + DRC delete
At first I though sh** fuel tank is leaking.. but quickly realised it was the oil seeping from the DRC line - from above the upper left corner of the fuel tank.
You can see the totally rusted DRC line running above..
ok, so what's the best way to drain all the oil from the DRC lines ?
I would like to eventually remove everything DRC related, as all the lines look shot - when time permits.
Keeping the RS long-term and very unlikely I would ever return to DRC, knowing the issues, costs and maintenance involved.

Re: Sway Bars suspension + DRC delete
Ride quality doesn't suffer with front and rear H&R bars. I run these paired with KW V3's and it's probably one of the best handling cars I've driven.
That's not to say the OEM stock front with 034 rear isn't a good option, many go for this too.
Here's the different thicknesses FYI and might be useful to others too.
OEM front and rear are 30mm / 22mm respectively
H&R front and rear are 32mm / 24mm respectively
034 rear is 25.4mm

Re: Sway Bars suspension + DRC delete
thanks for info on the bars and good to hear the H&R setup is effective..
I haven't decided which route I'm gonna take and I'll probably do this when I drop the rear subframe..
but do you or anyone have the Torque specs for the Front and Rear Sway Bar bolts?
thanks

Re: Sway Bars suspension + DRC delete
Not sure on the torque specs as the garage fitted mine but I would be amazed if it's not included in the paperwork/instructions that come with the bars.r8wut wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2024 11:08 pmthanks for info on the bars and good to hear the H&R setup is effective..

My car (avant) has KW Clubsport coils, H&R bars and 034 upper arms in front. I wish all my future cars handles like the RS! Lower than std but still high enough to clear all speedbumps
