Sos notification alarm

Post by snewton » Mon Jun 24, 2024 6:03 pm

After driving for a while get the sos notification alarm, contact dealership message
So after a Google search contacted audi preston nearest to me and they tell me that they need to do a firmware update that will take 2 days and this is free of charge, but they have to run a diagnosis for which there is a charge of £192
So tried to get as much info on this as I can
Have come across all sorts of info, some say that after a firmware update that it hasn't solved the problem, other have taken fuse out, or used a vag diagnostic tool to sort out
My rs4 has a stage 1, and have been told that I will.loose it if audi do the update
Advise needed
Many thanks

Tricky one - I’d find out what exactly this firmware is for and if it’s worth losing the stage 1

Did you get the firmware update? If you did, did it clear the sos fault? Also, did affect the stage 1?

The SOS notification alarm on your Audi RS4 is a known issue in some models and typically relates to the telematics module or eSIM communication system. Audi's approach—performing a firmware update—aims to address potential software bugs causing the alert.
