Frayed wires on window regulator

Post by Swan » Fri Dec 22, 2023 8:35 pm

Today’s minor disaster. Drivers side window won’t close.

Took door card off and found that the wires on bottom left hand side of the regulator have frayed and are getting chewed up in the mechanism.

Managed to force it mostly closed.

What’s the best solution to this?

Thanks.

New regulator
Daytona RS6 C5 Avant. Viper'd, Billies, Waggers, MTM box brain, C6 stoppers, xcarlink, R8 coolant cap (woohoo)
///M3 E46 | XC90 (V8, natch) | Passat GTE | RR Classic V8 flapper

Thanks. Yes I saw that. Have ordered a new regulator and will follow his example.

Cheers
