How's your motor running ?..

Post by stuartbarriskell » Sun Sep 17, 2023 5:37 pm

Thought I'd post up something different for a change ..

Had my B8 for 13 months now, knocked up circa 20k ish in that time, I buy my cars and Bikes to use them, so none of them sit about in a garage, maintenence, I'm either heavily invested in or where possible do my own work (mainly my bikes).. I drive my car every day and a jaunt or two at the weekends, she is running as sweet as can be right now, lovely and smooth, not a noise from anywhere... a real joy to drive.. mileage is 44k

List of works on the Audi..

1. OSF shock, drain and recharge.
2. Full body underseal.
3. O and F and Air Filters (Remember the ones that I removed .
4. Box and Final Drive oils.
5. Set of Mich hoops and rims recoated 3 weeks ago.. the P Zero's I removed were flawless.

Don't really want to tempt fate, but she's a sweet running car..

How's everyone else going ?..

Glad to hear you’re enjoying your car, they are smashing cars and I know I’ll miss it once it’s gone.

Had it up Skye the other week and it didn’t miss a beat. Done 8k in now and feel I’m getting to understand how these properly work and how get the most out of them. Completely changed my view on 4WD and it’s now a critical point for me now due to the confidence and traction it gives you. Had it in manual mode a fair amount and was loving the downshifts for engine braking - very impressive engine and gearbox.

Had it serviced just before we went so all in tip top shape and running well (touch wood!). Did about 700 miles and didn’t use a drop of oil. Was expecting a big engine like that to have used a bit. Tucked away in the garage now and probably won’t use it much other than to take it for a decent run now and again as hoping some one will come and buy it soon!

Expecting to take some pain on the depreciation, but no regrets after some great holidays in it and having the chance to own one of my dream cars.

Roads are totally decent on Skye, and that run-in from Fort Augustus to Balmacara (A87) is phenomenal, probably more suited to bikes, it's still an awesome road, whichever your on..

Had my b8 for just over a year now and a little more for me to do than you despite only covering around 3k miles.

OSR shock replaced and system recharged
PCV valves replaced
Low pressure fuel pump replaced
Injectors and fuel pressure sensor replaced and carbon clean completed

Still love the noise and general understated nature of the car though I am hoping for a better run of luck this year with reliability.
