Windscreen outer side trim.

Post by steve2003rs6 » Tue May 02, 2023 8:56 am

Hi all.
Does anyone know the part number for the fittings that retain the windscreen exterior trim. Two each side I think which are riveted in place.

Looked at all the usual places without any success.
I suppose breakers or scrapyards is my next point of call.

Many thanks suz. Yes that’s the part. When I tried earlier it didn’t recognise the part number. ??????
Weird.
As with the fan. They will not deliver to a private purchase in the uk.

I googled the part number. It popped up. Don't generally do searches on a specific site as they seem to be less reliable than just googling the same thing!

We definitely need some friendly Audi owner or place in the EU to get all the audi heritage bits and pass them on that understands all the customs crap needed now.

For 1.74 EUR they must be tiny. Easy enough to stick in an envelope to the UK I would have thought.

Add 19 % German tax. Then add 20% uk vat plus import duty costs plus postage costs. Then add forwarding company costs. It starts to add up.

Ps. Please Don’t ask me how I know !

I have been using deutscheparts in the uk to obtain parts from Germany on my behalf.
They have been brilliant and delivery times have been excellent.
I have tried forwarding companies, but in my very honest opinion, deutscheparts have been superior in every way and I can highly recommend them.
And they deal with the freight and taxes involved.
Which is a blessing on its own.
