RNS-E life in the old dog yet :)

As the RNS-E in the manual was kaput I donated the one from my Auto and started looking for a new head unit. Not being a fan of the non OEM look I decided to get a MK 2 RNS-E. Being a late model MK 2 it in theory it would not work in the C5 platform due to missing connections for K line and V signal.
While searching the hairdressing forums sorry I mean TT forums I can across a guy called PCBBC (Stuart). Now Stuart is somewhat of a RNS-E god / cleaver bastard, he has made updated firmwares and a magic box for the RNS-E. Now due to this magic box (arduino) I now have a fully functioning MK 2 RNS-E with a few extras
I know it's no Kenwood or Pioneer but there's hope for it yet.

Still far to outdated for me. And such a tiny screen also. Having said that, the slightest bit of sunlight and I can't see my screen anyway. It's in about the worst position possible

I can't see the kenwood one I have at all in sunny weather. Can only go somewhere I don't know when it's over cast! Tried all manner of screen protectors and such like and none of them seem to deal with the issue. And yet in other cars with the screens in sunshine they're perfectly visible. It's quite odd. It's like it needs some kind of pull out awning on the dashboard to shield it

Is it to do with the touchscreen? Ie capacitive vs resistive?
Mine is a capacitive touchscreen and I always find it very easy to read in the sun

It's resistive as you can feel the screen flex.

I have my RNS-D in a box for when this isn't my only car and the 2002 interior has a vintage feel.
The RNS-D + armrest Audi branded Nokia FTW as Shop says.
Random question on my list of to dos...

Can someone photograph how the sprung armrest phone platform is connected inside the armrest? I have the phone & platform. I'd like to know what the OEM bolts look like to source something similar.
