Hybrid turbo on my rs6 v10? any suggestions to upgrade bhp
Want to hybrid turbo my Audi rs6 it’s on 744bhp remapped by mrc with miltek exhaust, any more suggestions on what to do to upgrade more power?
Re: Hybrid turbo on my rs6 v10? any suggestions to upgrade bhp
You're going to hit a major "cost vs performance" issue when you try to push much more than 800hp as the engine has to come out which is a £3k-£4k bill just for that -
Upto 820hp - decat downpipes, 2.75in exhaust &TurboTechnics turbo upgrade (OEM turbo with a slightly different compressor) - £6k+
Anything 820+ will usually need some/all of this, the higher you go the more you need - New turbo (Custom, TTE or TTH etc), decat downpipes, 3in exhaust, fuel upgrades (either new HPFP or bigger Injectors), Intercoolers, Water/Meth, uprated Gearbox, airbox mods, better brakes (ceramics etc) etc - £25k+ easily, depending on the parts you buy.
And if you truly mental there's the 1200hp+ upgrade which involves a full engine rebuild on top of all the above.
Effectively the Stage 2 MRC setup for £2300 is THE best cost vs performance upgrade for these cars. You can get to 800hp with a stage 2 map and decatted downpipes which costs around £2k extra on top of the Stage 2 costs so you're already upto nearly £4500 and the costs skyrocket after that.

Thanks buddy I have got a quotation for £22,000 from MRC Tuning which I thought it was crazy
so if I put decat downpipes and decat definitely will add more power? What would you recommend on taking the manifold out and cleaning it manually by hand, I have my own mechanic garage for the next 1 year so I’m trying to get whatever I can done to my car at my own place so I can avoid the labour charges..

Does anyone know what the max achievable power level would be with the stock exhaust, assuming 3" decat downpipes are installed, along with TTE1000's, wagner IC, uprated GB etc? Ie, i'm guessing the stock exhaust, at some point would become the limiting factor...but i would be interested to know what that limit would be.

Thats about right for just the "power" side, then there's extra's like better brakes and/or tyres etc to cope with the extra power to think about. I burnt out my AP Racing 390mm discs at 900hp doing track days (see below - the black one is the 390mm) and had to go bigger to 410mm (top silver one) to cope. However OEM Ceramics are better (if expensive) choice for a road car.xr56bos wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2020 9:03 amThanks buddy I have got a quotation for £22,000 from MRC Tuning which I thought it was crazy

Yes it will (800-ish +/-10hp on stock turbos) but only with an additional map tweak at MRC which will cost a few hundred quid. You also run the slight risk of breaking a stud on the turbo trying to take the OEM downpipe off which means, if the stud can't be replaced in-situ (there is 1 that can't) then the engine will have to come out at that point anyway. It's not that common but it does happen to folks on here.
If you are asking about "Carbon Cleaning" the intake manifold, don't bother. Mine with 100k-ish miles only looked like this when MRC did my carbon clean, hardly worth it. The increased intake pressure from a Turbo/Supercharged system keeps the carbon off the valves far better than the non-Turbo B7 RS4 does, which is notorious for carbon build-up.
Here's my before after pics - Before has a slight build up, not enough to cause any issues.

After - nice and clean.

I think the stock duel exhaust is just 2.5in per pipe with a H pipe cross-over at the mid-point so really anything past low 800hp-ish is where the OEM cat-back exhaust would start to be a restriction at higher RPM's but I've no idea how much it would hurt the end power figure as I don't think anyone has done that yet so we have no definitive figures yet.
However I know the first UK guy who went past 1000hp in his Red C6 back in 2015 (using race fuel and TTE850's) had a 2.75in Milltek cat-back exhaust so those levels are achievable on a 2.75in system. Plus the turbine on your TTE10000's is much more gas efficient than the old TTE850's were which may help with the exhuast.

FWIW, I have the MRC downpipes and secondary cat delete on an otherwise completely stock exhaust.

I have supersprint 70 mm dia system with 3"MRC downpipes stage two 797 ps 1183 nm, shows that the standard system is restrictive, depends if you want to spend the extra for more power and torque

That's a lot of torque. Is your gearbox stock?julianmalc wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2020 5:09 pmI have supersprint 70 mm dia system with 3"MRC downpipes stage two 797 ps 1183 nm, shows that the standard system is restrictive, depends if you want to spend the extra for more power and torque

That is a fair whack of torque indeed. I would also be interested to know if your gb is stock.welwynnick wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 9:03 amThat's a lot of torque. Yes the gearbox is stock, she was spiking at 1197 nm, but Doug at MRC straighten the torque curve to hold 1183 nm from 3,000-5,000 rpm, 1200nm is the max the standard gbox can take as long as you are not being mechanically unsympathetic, excessive abuse will break it, had this tune for couple years and no problems
