Been a lurker on these forums since early last year when the infatuation I had with the B7 RS4 got too much to handle. By September I found one for sale that was nearby and went and picked it up, and I've been in love ever since. One of the previous owner deleted the mufflers and put in an ECS H-Pipe and I can say I've never heard a more glorious exhaust note. It's truly intoxicating.
It's got some mileage and is sitting at around 158,000 miles currently, and really the only serious issue it has is some pesky oil leaks. Last trip to the local specialty Euro Shop had the oil pan resealed, new front main seal, and resealed valve covers. They wanted $1700 for the Forge oil cooler plus $600 in labor to install it, which I declined and did myself. Still getting a leak from where the new cooler meets the engine, suspecting it's the O-rings Forge included as I've heard that's common. And even better, after that trip to the Shop, it developed another oil leak from the back of the motor which I haven't bothered to look at. Might be the oil filter housing if they over torqued it (has an aftermarket billet cap) or maybe it's the typical timing covers. It's going back next week for that to get fixed.
But that'll all get sorted in time. I love the car, and I love the looks it gets driving around town. From people being angry about loud noises
So thanks for providing such a source of information and knowledge, I'm sure I'll be learning more the longer I'm here. Cheers!
