New tyres old tpms

Post by Pinkfoot » Sat Apr 18, 2020 9:24 pm

Ordered tyres but neglected to get new sensors.
Do they transfer reliably or will they fail?

They stay on the rims - it's just the core of the valve that's replaced. A sensor can go on for years until the battery fails.

You can change the valve stem separately from the sensor.
I’d be doing that cause the valve is cheap, about £12.
The sensor battery life is meant to be 5 years.

Which tyres did you go for Pinkfoot?
I'm due some and Costco have great deal on Michelins PS4's and PSS's.
