Don....current steer is a 520d estate as a runaround. Loving the extra money every month now the M3 has gone but need to get a weapon again. Seeing reviews like this aren’t good for my sanity as my renewed budget (don’t want to be shelling out too much anymore) means a C7 is slightly too much and a C6 is well within reach....don0301 wrote:you pining?

I tested two tuned C6’s before I bought my own stock one and the feeling I had was of a runaway NASA rocket but you know how that feels everyday Don!don0301 wrote:Have you been in a stage 2 C6 since? With the imminent C8, C7 prices will surely drop faster for you.
Even though the C8 is £100k+ it will mean many trade-ins, and as the C7 sold well should impact prices I would have thought. Good luck this time round!stevo55 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2019 4:10 pmI tested two tuned C6’s before I bought my own stock one and the feeling I had was of a runaway NASA rocket but you know how that feels everyday Don!don0301 wrote:Have you been in a stage 2 C6 since? Am hoping that C7’s will be dropping with the C8, time will tell as the C8 in reality is a £100k + car which is a lot of money in anyone’s language for a car.
I note that C6’s have dropped (you can pick one up for £16k now) but as we both know there are some real abused dogs out there which will be a monster money pit.

Well that’s a no brainer! C7 was better than the C6 (although the loss of the V10 was sad) and so the C8 will by default (hopefully) be better than the C7 (although the Rev limiter while static is a bit of a daft thing imo)jbourne wrote:What I got from the Carwow review was that he liked the 2020 RS6 a lot more than the 2008 and thinks it's a better car.

Yeah lol just not clear it was worth the long video for that conclusion
Why is a limited rpm while the engine is under no load daft?stevo55 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2019 3:02 amWell that’s a no brainer! This I agree with. My N54 engine used to have that at 4K, and I thought that was the smartest thing ever.Stiggles wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2019 8:48 amWhy is a limited rpm while the engine is under no load daft?stevo55 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2019 3:02 amWell that’s a no brainer! Imo it's a bit daft to redline an engine while stationary or not under heavy load. But if you like glazed bores and worn rings by all means try to bypass the useful safety feature!
