Fitting NEXTBASE 612GW

Post by pauldavidthomas » Wed Jan 09, 2019 1:34 pm

Hi,

I've got a second hand B8 and was bought a NEXTBASE 612GW for Xmas from my parents.

(https://www.nextbase.com/en-gb/dash-cam ... -dash-cam/)

Any advice on getting it fitted ? Should I go to my local Poole dealership, Halfords or perhaps a car security firm.

I live near Southampton.

Many Thanks in advance.

Later I will put some pics up :-)

I have my dashcam (it is a Mio model) hard wired into the console light using this:

You might need a different adapter if you were to go down this route. Halfords would not / could not fit this and I suspect Audi would decline too. An Automotive electrician might. I did it myself

I have fitted one myself today using an adaptor kit from Fleabay that cost about £9.00
Took me 20 minutes to run the cable down around the lining, down the door rubber and into the passenger fuse box. The kit came with a piggy-back fuse which meant the only 'wiring' as such was attaching the negative to an earth - a point being the glove box did the trick.

PM me if you want details of the kit.
