Considering purchasing a B8....help!

Folks, I’m considering a B8 but have noticed that the gearbox appears to be the Achilles heel from the research I have done. Is this an isolated issue to cars built in certain years or are the gearboxes generally a weak point and its luck of the draw. It’s the one thing that’s holding me back at the moment.

Others may be better informed but I'd say the latter. Not heard of any updates/fixes that has cured the problem

I'm sure I read, somewhat surprisingly, Audi confessed they had gone to a traditional auto in the new B9 RS4 for reliability reasons

Buy the car and take out a warranty!
