Any tips and advice on fitting these please ?

Post by R-S-4 » Mon Aug 21, 2017 9:17 pm

I am purchasing some LED DRL bulbs along with the Emt number plate lights.

Now i did goto halfords a few months ago to look at changing a side light bulb,(NOT LED) and they said they wont touch Audis anymore regarding bulbs as it takes far too long to change them ?

Is their an easy way ? or at least tips on helping to replace these bulbs as i have not tried yet but i am guessing its going to be fun NOT

Find yourself an 8 year old boy that doesn't mind cutting their hands. Other than that just be preapred to scrape all the skin off your hands. Mind you dont drop the old bulbs into the head light as you take them out. It sometimes helps to turn the bulb on and look through the front of the headlight to help aim it into the right hole. One side is easier than the other as there is a radiator hose blocking the way making it even harder. If you have fingers like Cumberland sausages then might be a better idea to get someone else to do it for you.

Mike, this is Ard-bob, he won't have skinny fingers, he will have fists of ham!

Good luck Ard-bob, personally i'd get a specialist to do it, or at least someone who has done it before. :thumb:
Real name: Simon, or Si, don't mind either

Haha, because only cowards can use keyboards.
Hey, leaving the theory aside that these posts were just being light-hearted; if you're calling out 'cowards' using your keyboard, doesn't that automatically make you a cow-hard? I mean, a real Ard-bob would never use a keyboard and WORDS to sort something out, no sir, they're doers, they do everything face-to-face. Seems like you've become the thing you hate, a keyboard worrier, using words to come back at other 'keyboard warriors' i.e people that can use a keyboard.
Oh dear, how the mighty has fallen.

Cue "say it to my face".
No matter where you go, there you are.

i am not a coward because i am not here trying to wind people up, do you have nothing better to do ? this is a forum for us to either ask advice, or give advice if you have owned a audi or rs4 longer than i have, so why you feel the need to try and wind me up is beyond me fella.

Listen seriously if you dont like me or a have an issue then dont read my posts, block me or what ever i really dont care, i so wish i bump into you sometime though, lets see how cocky you are then.

Fella just leave me alone and get something better to do with your time, for those who are helpful to us newbies on here its great but you always get some prick like yourself who ruins it.

Now because you are a child, i am fully aware your going to come back with a childish respone, so let me put it out there for you loud and clear, i am not going to lower myself to your standards, i never pick a fight, i dont start a fight, i have better things to do than try and wind people up, so any responses from you from now on i am not even going to read so feel free, do your worse as i for one will just skip by them.

And i have had a couple of PM's letting me know exactly who you are, so lets hope we bump into each other eh? just so i can shake your hand OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT ;)

Oh that's so sad you've gone, because in being so serious, you've become just so entertaining. That's some great "I'm not responding to you", only 5 paragraphs of not biting back! And way to go telling us all what and how this public forum should be used.

I'm not hiding from you, in fact, ask me about my daily routine and I'll tell you. That way you can bump into me as regularly as you like. I'll be the one carrying a keyboard...

It isn't quite that bad but the advice is all there - be prepared to twist around a bit and do look through the headlight for the DRL bulb cutouts as it is easy to undo the bulb and drop it into the headlight (double sided tape on bent wire will extract it if you do). The sidelights just pull the wires but straight back and they will come out easily enough - I put a cable tie around the wires when they were out so easier to locate and tug out.

It can be a fiddle but only really 10 minutes and a few scratches with a bit of practice.
