Where to get rear brake discs?

Post by james85 » Sun Jul 23, 2017 5:11 pm

Anyone know of any place with the zimmerman rear discs in stock?
Cannot seem to get both sides, only right hand side available at most places but no left.

cheers

I've still got some on my watch list on eBay. They're from Germany costing £438. But the pagids are not that much more at around £450 from carparts4less. I couldn't find them any cheaper when I was looking.

Thanks chaps for your help , there certainly does seem to be a massive gulf in price from one place to the next on these!

Many thanks stocky68

Just bought them from autodoc £375 for the pair .

<beep> just realised I order one plain and one drilled! :knob:
Been a long day.

Anyway they are £385 for the pair drilled or I think £10-£15 cheaper plain.

Autodoc don't list the RS6. Do you have a part number for them? I suspect mine might need changing soon...

What alternatives are there that might involve small mods to the car eg if AP racing did some disks? They already do front ones. I'm hoping they might do rear ones as they're a bit silly money really.

You could get used S6 C7 carriers (IIRC they had 356x22 rears) and matching ATE discs for dirt cheap.

Thanks.

I wonder if any of these rear sets listed on EBC direct a good replacement without having to do any meddling?

Probably not an issue for the rear, but if you put solid, non-floating disks on the front then you're asking for a cooked hub.

Does the RS have floating rears as well as floating fronts then? If so, the AP ones which are designed to float would be ideal if the buggers did them for the rear...

Yes, the standard 335x22 are floaty. Here are the ATE 356x22 (with standard rs6 carriers and callipers)

Part number is ATE 24.0122-0273.1, cost around 100 euros each, maybe even less.
