700 hp club

Post by Tadass910 » Tue Feb 07, 2017 10:49 pm

wonder how many of u have 700hp or more, do u guys use 98 ron or only 100+, is it not a problem to use 98 ron on a car with 700 hp, some tuners state that 700 hp cars must be only used with higher octane fuel, some say if u use 98 ron u gonna hit less power, but is it not a problem for engine (detonation etc)

if some of u have 700 hp please write which tuner u using

I've done the big bhp on my C6. Very nice to talk about but in reality not usable on our roads. My C7 actually feels as quick low down probably down to the diet compared to the C6

Switchable maps will allow for a full range of fuels with the highest tune only being advised with Tesco 99 or V-Power.

Non switchable but Custom maps you can in many cases request this to be based on a specific fuel & as above the biggest gains are from using the best fuels, but if you've a map built for 99ron & you get caught short you can of course still use 95ron, but it's advised to pull back on caning the car until it's back to drinking the good stuff.

As I understand going from 560 to 700 petroleum consumption also rises a lot per gallon

ABT for example offer 700 hp with their special box + exhaust system but leaving stock downpipes I wonder is it not bad for all system when you have 700 hp but your downpipes are stock

Tadass910, not sure what your fuel enquiry is? If you actually use 700 bhp instead of 560 bhp to shift your 2 tonne car, and it's very seductive, believe me, then basic physics states you will need more energy/fuel. There's no free energy, so nothing for nothing. The tuning companies suggest you might get more efficient combustion with their remapps, so if you cruise at the same speed or accelerate at the same rate, i.e. use the same power, then if they are right you should be using less fuel and so doing more mpg - small margins though, I suspect. You will definitely be able to burn more fuel and therefore accelerate quicker and travel faster, which is the chief objective. Trust me, you have to hold on to the steering wheel tighter, so you don't loose your grasp; its the first time driving all sorts of high performance cars that I'd ever really noticed that!

Thanks dude, but for me is too much changing downpipes, cos as I know with 700 bhp you need change downpipes, with 666bhp let's say you can stay on stock dps, but some tuning companies say that you can even go for 700bhp with stock dps, but then its necessary to use 100+octane, which it can be problematic to find

An MRC remap (or any decent tuning company) will give you 700bhp from just a remap, no hardware changes required and from 98/99 octance fuel.

Thanks Mike, so to leave stock dps is no problem with such power (700 hp or 666hp)? It's not going to be bad for engine? As in my position I have Miltek none resonated.

As long as the car is mapped by a decent tuner then there is no problem. A milltek cat back system is not very different from OEM system other than noise but even if it was then the remap should take this into consideration. By a decent remap I am of course talking about a tailored map not a generic one.

Picked up my 2017 Perf today after two days in dyno for disable 4-cyl modus and remap .
They managed to code out the 4-cyl modus and that was a pita for me since i felt like "the car changed gear" and exhaust pop (Milltek Non res cat back) each time the 8 went in. This option can not be healty for the engine due to many reasons.

Since they had to "break into" the ECU to do this, it was no turning back for warranty and the car was ready to be tuned.
Stock was 604 PS /745 nm, so thats pretty close to promised ( car has only 2000 km / 1500 miles).
The most aggressive map they tried was measured to 720 PS / 920 nm. This map is perfect for 100+ oct but thats not an option where i live. The engine management had to much correction on ignition times when 98 oct was used and it became a little to hot on exhaust temp so they decided to take it a little bit down.
The map i use deliver 700 PS / 880 nm and the car feels different i can promise. The trottle response is :-) :-)

Maybe i buy the MyGenious from Dimsport to be able to switch maps myself.
