Possible new owner

Post by Leers » Sun Dec 11, 2016 6:10 pm

Hi everyone just wanted to ask a few questions if I may as I have been offered a RS4 b7 avant. Do you find these cars exciting and fun to drive? I have never driven one or even been in one for that matter. Is there any essential mods to make? Also do any of you use them for the odd track day here and there pros and cons of doing this? Don't get me wrong 99% of the time the car will be used on the road but I do like to do 1 or 2 track days a year. Thanks Lee

Yes they are fun. Being "offered" like you could be given one? If so I would say yes and accept it!

Car is a blast, stay in top of your maintenance and you be fine. Not a cheap car to maintain but a beast and lots of upgrades available making it even better. One of the most fun cars I have driven/owned without a doubt. Also no particular downfall/fail with the RS4; if anything the DRC but an easy swap/fix if you go coils + on the maintenance side it is requiring some carbon manifold cleans.

I would try and get a drive out in it. They are one of the sweetest handling and rewarding cars on the road but not everyones gonna love em like i do. Also if you want some advice put up the spec, mileage etc and what he thinks its worth.

It's a 57 reg Grey avant with just over 50000 miles on it, bucket seats and totally standard. He wants £16000 for it in px.

if its got good history and no hidden problems then thats a really good price. A very nice 50k miler in grey (1 of the most sought after colours) and a 57 (1 of the last plates) could be easily worth 20k

This is what I thought. But he said its very clean and is happy to do a 4 hour journey to me to have any inspection I like. I have a 2012 Grey RS3 which he is after. I'm based not to far from Plymouth in Devon.

I tracked my old car a few times and loved it, especially if it is raining :)

It's brilliant on the track ;) watch this https://youtu.be/AdKoM9_LwHc
Not cheap to run tho. Brakes, petrol, tyres all add up on the track ;) but in the right hands not much can beat it on the track.
