Boot flap

Post by DrB » Fri Jun 03, 2016 9:19 am

Does anyone have a boot flap, to prevent the bumper getting scratched, when loading the car?

I have a boot flap as part of a boot liner from hatchbag. I've also had the top of the rear bumper protected with a bit of paint protection film. As the car is black you can't see he film.

+1 to clear film covering. Cost me £30 and nigh on invisible.

They charged me an extra £20 when I was having the front of the car protected.

Installed BootBuddy kit today in the new RS6. Specifically designed for A6/S6/RS6. Hard gloss back, floor and side liners with a non slip mat and bumper guard. Highly recommended. Great quality.

Does that block the "ski hatch"? It looks like it does, but can't tell for sure.

It does - although the front unclips and folds flat if you drop both seats.
That said I have never used a ski hatch, but the dog travels in my car every day.

What is the backing of the boot flap made of? The hatchbag boot flap seems a little hard and liable to leave marks to me. I'd have expected a microfibre type material.

Mine is cashmere. Changed daily of course.

(Actually I binned mine as Sid the dog made both sides so filthy it was pointless. Went with clear wrap on upper part of bumper. Much easier.)
