Dealer stamps.

Post by chris_m » Mon Dec 07, 2015 8:43 pm

In the real world, are dealer stamps all that? I'm after servicing the car and tbf would probably rather take it to a specialist but I'd like to keep the audi service up if it would make a difference come resale..?

I'm just curious what others do? Cheers.

For your car, yes, main dealer.

Thanks mate. I've read comments in the past people saying they'd never take their RS to a main dealer because they know nothing about the performance cars etc etc. I'll have to sort it soon though, the tyre pressures warning is doing my head in.

I've only used Newcastle Audi to service my 4 and it has paid dividend when it comes to goodwills I've received. The trick is to find a dealer service manager who is enthusiastic and knowledgable about their products. Newcastle Audi has one, but they're not able to work on R8s until Jan/Feb.

The TPMS is likely dead battery?
Or have the wheels/tyres been changed?

There should be an option to reset the TPMS in the menu option in the DIS.
Early cars don't have this.
One of mine was an early car, I changed wheels and it wouldn't recognise the new wheels and II would have had to do it via TPMS....never got round to it and literally 1,000 miles after changing wheels with constant TPMS warnings the car gave in and reset the TPMS and accepted the wheels !

I wondered why they haven't called me back yet. I went in on Saturday but their system was down. I've been expecting a call back since...

The battery was flat when I picked the car up so that's possibly the case then. I looked in the manual which said it would have to be done at the dealers (unless they all say this)? I'll have a play about with it tomorrow to see if I can get any joy. Every time I put the ignition on I get all kinds of alarms. It does my nut in. I lived with an engine management light on my RS4 for about 9 months. Not this time...

I find leaving messages pretty useless, emailing the right person directly is more efficient (Paul Armstrong @ Tyneside and Mark Robinson @ Newcastle). Mark would answer my emails at all hours and weekends.

Thanks mate, I'll give that a try. You wouldn't mind actually passing on an email address would you?

It is very important to change the engine oil yearly regardless of mileage and I use a local garage to do. Try use the Motul 300V engine oil if possible as it is the best oil out there IMO.

The Audi service stamps are important so get Audi to do the minimum as possible.
Too much power is barely enough.

Where is the best place to get that oil mate? Are audi usually okay with people leaving their own oil?
