Detailing Bug.... Bugger

Post by boff » Sat Aug 08, 2015 5:14 pm

OK

so for those of you who know me; I'm a kinda pay someone else to wash my car kinda guy.... until this week; wedding forces unforeseen car clean pleasure!

So there's three of us in the close mate trio; one getting married - and two of us with B8's - so my B8 gets chosen as the wedding car; and the other B8 owner is a psycho on cleaning etc - so he gives me a discount code for a company that he uses on the net and before I know it a large box of detailing grade stuff arrives.

My car was dirty 6000 miles with two kids plus many beaches and outdoor things going on....

I didn't realise how much I'd enjoy the detailing side of things!! (BTW I will still get mine pro detailed with ceramic coating soon) - here's the result of 4 hours; I even got the expensive floor mats out!!! I'm happy for a first attempt; found one scratch and a dent (tiny)

This car needs to be enjoyed....

The Kit....!! Some just awesome things in here - the quick detailer is just unbelievable - makes Mythos ROCK!!

Roll out the posh mats....

No Baby Seats in here!

Getting there

The day is ending!

Got it home....

Good Morning - the days has arrived (after having the Groom out to 4 am.....)

At the wedding on time!!

Your duties are done... back to the bar.....!
When the B8's look this good!! wow!!! I'm gonna wash it much more seriously now!!!

Not bad for a first go; my car has autoglym lifetime on it; which is crap - but if I use any waxes it'll strip it all off, so the guy from the Shop sent me a quick detailer... OMG this stuff rocks.

I've not even opened the AutoGlym kit I got; I bet it's OK - but having used super resin etc before; I was amazed at this kit and the way it all works - cleaning your car has moved right on!!! The ODK Quick detailer is unbelievable

I'm trying to not get too hooked as I'll become a nightmare; hence why I'm getting on with driving it.... but my god

I think they are the first pictures I've seen of your car Boff. It looks great with the red trim and detail around the rim. Good choice sir.

I had my car detailed a few weeks back for the 1st time and that included a good wax coating. I have a spray quick wax which works really well between full waxes. I'm like you, now I clean my car myself and really enjoy it, I spent 4 hrs on it today ready for the Snetertton Touring Car meeting.

The bonus of the quick spray wax is that is smells good enough to eat lol

most of those pics were taken with my iPhone 6+ - then the last one on a proper dslr; massive difference

Marc thanks - I was super nervous about this motor; bought it off pre-ordered dealer spec, and the wheels caused many hours of debate - i have to say I'm so delighted about what I got; I like things with a personal stamp; and this would have been my choice
