Absolutely Gutted!!!

So your thoughts please folks. I'm currently 2700 miles in on these tyres; and the car has the full Audi Maintenance Package which includes tyres; brakes; etc

The plan was to run these to the end of their lives and move to either the Bridgestone; the Pilot Super Sport; or the Pilot Sport 2 (By the way!! which is better; the PSS or the PS2?). I believe that the maintenance package is simply that; doesn't cover for tyres with punctures?

So how many miles do your tyres usually last?; my options as I see it are:

# Repair it - too close to the edge, would be the "motorbike it'll be fine" option - which I don't like; although my RS6 had one of these and whilst it freaked me out it was fine.
# Stick on a New PZero - worried about the mileage on the other tyres; thoughts?
# Find a similarly used PZero - anyone got one?
# Bite the bullet - and upgrade the tyres early; full set, but at my cost; opinions on the PSS / PS2 - I have to say these aren't the worst PZero's I've ever had; but I've always moved on from them as quick as possible; and usually not looked back.

GUTTED!!!! Also anyone know of a garage SW London Way that has one of those really super cool tyre fitting machines that cut out the need for the dreaded bars? and a good balancer.

Ooh final question - where's the cheapest tyre place at the moment?

True - but a set @ circa £900; vs. Audi putting them on in probably another 6000 miles.....

Yeah - I've always loved the Michelins; and am very tempted at the Bridgestones - they look even more like a cup tyre than the Michelins.

What's the score PS2 vs PSS?

I must avoid the following thought though - my wifes car had similar puncture a few weeks back....

.... and is it me but does that nail just look like it was placed in the perfect place to write off the tyre? - must move away from these conspiracy thoughts!!!

PSS best tyre out there IMO (there's a good reason it was specced on 458 Italia's, etc). Second best tyre is the PS2. Then all the others fall in line. You might be lucky with that nail though, it might not have gone all the way in.

Co-incidence...!

viewtopic.php?f=61&t=115430

The cheapest place for these right now is Kwik-Fit online. National said they had them for £197, but they tried to supply me Corsa's, twice(!), until I eventually lost patience and booked Kwik-Fit who did a perfect job with the right tyre. If I remember rightly it was £211 all in.

I know mate!! Unbelievable! - Sorry I did steal your thread title method!! Other theory is that PZero's are really good at picking up sharp things.....

.....Or that in our parts of London; people like spoiling things.....

Arrrghh - it;s a bloody puncture - MOVE ON!!!

Also - I know it's buggered the tyre; car has told me with lights..... (at least I know that system is working fully too now)

What do you reckon? 2700miles in and throw on a new tyre? that was a no no in the 911; apparently different radius's warm up the 4wd system something rotten; however I believe that equilibrium is eventually found.....

I hadn't had a puncture in any of my cars for years, until I had the p zeros
Blow out on the m40 two weeks later a nail, best thing I did was to ditch them, crap tyre only half decent for 5k then shocking

Don't think you can blame a brand for picking up a nail. It's a ball ache that it's happened 2700 miles in though. You'd get £100 a tyre if you sold them? That means an upgrade is easier to stomach. Seem PS2s for £181 from Camskill.

Yeah; you are probably right - as we've discussed before; I have two pzeros at the back of my garage which act as a stop - they came off my B5 RS4 back in the day...

....I dunno but I do reckon I've picked up more punctures in PZero's over the years - or maybe this is just man logic kicking i; i.e. Zeros are bad must buy something else with lots of good justification!!

Smudge - did you recommend Jack Barclays? well anyway; rang them today as the car is on the Audi Service plan; doesn't cover punctures - Anyway had a decent chat with Carl - told me to buy a new tyre; quoted £260 - told him I'd been quoted £196 (which I had from my own tyre dude). And he's price matched it; which I quite like as if there is an issue with the rotating size; not my problem! All Audi.

All Good; tyre in stock tomorrow.
