Heads Up - Tyres

Post by carsarecool » Fri Feb 20, 2015 8:54 pm

Elite Wheels in Reading are doing Pirelli P-Zero Rosso 265/30/20 RO1 for £175 a corner.

I know not everyones cup of tea but...a bargain in my opinion.

Which ones? I must admit I don't understand this. I have used a few types of tyres now over my ownership but still mainly go off of the tyres labels. Certain Pirellis have the same coding as the Michelin Pilot Super Sports and better than some others.

I don't get it either? Mine came with Pirellis and I find them totally adequate for me. I guess some people are so good at driving they can tell the difference. Audi must be wrong in fitting them as well as Toyos, on their cars much to the dismay of the experts.

I went from my b7 with eagle f1's straight to my b8 I couldn't believe the loss of traction when pushing hard, for me they are truly shocking, worst tyre I've had in many years. Thankfully got pilot sports now, they have transformed the grip

Which type of Pirellis were they buddy.

I am struggling to find PPS in the right size for mine.

It will be the next thing due on my car as things stand.

Yes the Pirellis are shocking I have had them on all my RS4s on the B5 the were positively dangerous they tramlined quite violently on the white lines got barely 6k out of the fronts then changed to Goodyear F1s and the car was transformed again on my B7 it came with Pirellis again they tramlined on the white lines not as bad as the B5 and the all wet handling was <beep> so again went for F1s and latterly Michelin ssgreat tyre in the wet and dry hard wearing too
The finally Pirellis on my currant B8 the y do not tramline but the wet grip is poor got about 8k out of them and will 've getting Michelin as on in April as I have my winters on at the mo so to summarize pirellis are super <beep> on any RS4 to date
