Loving your optimism. It is however a touch deluded but each to their ownfeeltheburn wrote:"Performance":- Hanging out on a BMW Forum might be more appropriate then? Oh, and It is seldom about the money...well not to a true connoisseur!
rabies- only done around 3500 miles- had a quick look and no signs of any external leakage on my rear diff. At least it is covered by warranty. Hopefully you'll soon have it back and be driving past "better value" German alternatives should they be presented with anything more than a 1:5000 slope if the winter bites! Not that the outcome would be any different if it was a summers day and downhill
Performance wrote:"it will be covered on Warranty" are they for real?.
I dumped Audi after buying all there high performers for BMW, never looked back.
I found Audi very expensive on service and parts, and cars were not reliable either.
Just my 2P.
Test drove this RS6 after owning the last one, Bought a M6 Gc Comp Pack, way better bang for buck and got £34K off a new deal.
I must have been "deluded" again this morning...picture the scene...a whole 2cmW8PMC wrote:Loving your optimism. To the o/p, that seems like another 'we don't know what we're doing' from your dealer as no way it would take 3 days to investigate an oil leak from a diff. Perhaps if it's an uncommon part that's failed it may take a while to source but 3 days to investigate is a bit OTT. That said & to balance things out i don't rate BMW M dealers/service any better than Audi
Wintert tyres mate, job done.feeltheburn wrote:I must have been "deluded" again this morning...picture the scene...a whole 2cmW8PMC wrote:Loving your optimism. and an RS6 (C7) breezes past a "better value" German alternative that was just sitting spinning only one set of it's wheels, much like a propeller blade, half way up the "hill". The plucky RS6 (C7) then soldiered on through the "treacherous conditions" only to happen upon another German alternative 3/4 of the way up, again spinning only 1 set of it's wheels, much like a revolving 3 pointed star, At least it made it further up I guess. That said the Astra in front of me also seemed to manage the "treacherous conditions" without issue...maybe Opel also belongs on the list of "better value" German alternatives??
So, NO

Picturing it & chuckling away as no such issue for me this morning, however not sure i was out in quite 2cm but certainly a full covering/dusting, but either way no dramas or traumas on the inclines & non treated roads all around me. Perhaps the BMW & Merc drivers you refer to were unskilled in such conditions, but believe me the car probably had little to do with it. Having owned AWD/FWD & RWD cars, it's driver ability & sensibility that counts & not how many driven wheels. The only 2 cars i've ever had issue with in snow were a FFRR (even i thought that was odd) & an R35 GT-R.feeltheburn wrote:I must have been "deluded" again this morning...picture the scene...a whole 2cmW8PMC wrote:Loving your optimism. That made me chuckle. I remember vividly my R35 GT-R getting stuck in the snow right in front of my house (much to the amusement of my neighbours). The more 'power' i deployed the worse the situation became. I recall then abandoning my car whilst smacking the rear spoiler with my fist & hurling obscenities at it, needless to say this did't help my situation but did fuel my neighbours amusement.feeltheburn wrote:At least we can all agree, these are all fantastic cars, all with their flaws and benefits. The nut behind the wheel has a major part to play even more so in challenging conditions. Unfortunately I am one of the" throw enough power at it it is bound to move" brigade hence the Quattro to Stop me looking too foolish! I know better but my feet seem to have ideas of their own sometimes!
