Bought another one....

Post by b7rs4saloon » Wed Jul 16, 2014 8:36 am

Just done a deal on another R8 after regretting selling mine earlier in the year.

10 V10 Coupe
Daytona
Manual
Ceramics
Buckets

Couple of questions if you can help?

Needs new front tyres, dealer will replace as they are cracked (happened on my last one - pirellis), my question is, what tyres are you all using? I wasn't overly impressed with the pirellis on my last v10

The side blades are silver, will be looking to change to carbon at some point.

The car has standard exhaust so will look to fit aftermarket but at the same time fit facelift/plus bumper. Anybody got any advice?

Thanks

I'll stick to the OEM fitment if you have warranty.
Too much power is barely enough.

I haven't needed to replace my tires yet but have done a lot of reading. The R8 section is fairly quiet on this forum but I've found on the net that the general consensus is the standard Pirellis are not great and a set of Michelin PSS transform the car. As I say I haven't experience with them on the R8 yet but I did have Michelins on my RS4 and I was very happy with them.

Won't effect warranty!

If your rears are fine, just stick some more pirellis.

If your rears are shot, got for MPSS all round.

I've got a capristo with remote exhaust valve for sale.

That'll be the one at Reading. Nice low mileage, looked very clean

Is it this one ? I saw that one advertised, looks lovely
i did drop them an email actually about a week ago, but didn't get a response, so i guess you'd already agreed some terms with them
Purely out of interest, and please feel free to tell me get lost or PM me, but did you get any movement on price with them on it as I've had very mixed experiences with Audi dealers over prices of used R8's recently ?

Sounds normal for an Audi dealer unfortunately

You can fit them retrospectively, but it's circa £4k from what I've seen

There are some blades up for £1500 ATM, so when I sell mine might cost me a grand to change!

DK, pm me the details on exhaust, thanks
