A for Audi in Clydebnk

Post by Red roof » Sun Jun 15, 2014 7:58 am

I had my car in A for Audi this week (Daytona B7 RS4 Avant) due to a knocking from the suspension. It turned out to be the dreaded DRC and the upper suspension arms.
Andy at A for Audi diagnosed it quickly after a short consultation where I gave him as much info as I could. He was on the ball and well versed with the RS4, as we're the rest of his staff, and the way forward was decided. Luckily there was a Bilstein coil over kit at his disposal after another customer decided against it a while ago.
So, the kit was fitted and he said the car would be ready on Friday, and I could give back the Nissan Micra courtesy car then after having it since Wednesday when my car went in. He called on Thursday to say the car was ready so I duly made my way over there where the car was out for a road test. I was offered tea and coffee, while Andy and I had a chat. The car came back and went straight on the ramp, this is where it got interesting. In any other garage main dealer included I have never seen a car being pushed on to the lift, but the boys rolled it over the lift, did their checks before raising the car up. Two techs then set about doing final checks. I asked to have a peek underneath as this was the first time the car had been on a ramp since I got it 18months ago (except for the mot where I wasn't present). I was shown round all that had been done, some problem areas were pointed out and I was told what symptoms to look for in various situations.
The techs had no issues going round their work with me and appreciated that as an engineer I have a annoying habit of 'needing to know'! They were friendly, helpful, polite and generally nice blokes.
Once the car was down they rolled her back out of the ramp bay, checked oil, water, and topped up screen wash. Then I saw the tech check, check and re check the fluid caps in the engine bay, which is something I do myself, which also just gave me a massive boost in confidence with them.
The car was spotless also after the job as they do a complementary wash and somehow got my wheels the cleanest I have ever seen them.
I didn't mean this to be such a big post, but if you are in the Central Scotland area and have an Audi or BMW, A for Audi and B for BMW in Clydebank should be your first port of call for servicing and repairs, these guys know their stuff, they're friendly, polite, knowledgable and professional, I am over the moon that I found them.
They are also considerably cheaper, and what I was quoted for the job was what I was billed, which is unusual in itself in my experience! They use oem parts and 6000 returning customers cannot be wrong, 6001 now!
Cheers
Garry

Just got some work completed on my rs6 also.

Great service from the guys I also dealt with andy and he seemed clued up and couldn't have been more helpful.

Asked them about few other things and took time to explain to me even though they were about to close, didn't feel rushed out the door as if they wanted to go home.

I'll keep an eye out for you Gaz-Man, I am often passing through to and from the ferry, I'll give any other rs4 a wave or a flash of the headlights!
