Interestingly the GTI with PP was faster than the R as well.

Very true. They've done a bloody good job with the Cupra though performance wise. As a package I doubt it is as good but still a good job.

GTI PP manual 1:15.06, Golf R 1:14.80. However I agree a like-for-like GTI PP with the DSG box would have probably pipped the R.

Wonder what the 205 would do!
