Took my B7 into Swindon Audi this week for its annual service and to refurb all the wheels. From the service history seems that they had been refurbed before by Manchester or Shrewsbury Audi and they did a crap job. Swindon Audi has a new dark blue RS6 in the showroom. With extras, its on sale for about £85,000.00 apparently. Whilst I was collecting my car the next day a salesman started it up and blipped the throttle a few times. Truly awesome sound, bit like a drag racer being revved. One of the Audi technicians had driven one and said he had never driven anything like it. So clearly an impressive motor. But... it's absolutely huge. Must easily be one of the longest and widest cars on the road. And it's not exactly pretty. In fact, to me, from some angles, especially from the back, it looks pig ugly, which is a characteristic that it shares with most of the current Audi models apart from the R8, A5 and maybe the A4. Fast it may be but the looks put me right off.
On a more relevant note, Swindon Audi did a first class job on the wheels, for £250.

Re: New RS6 at Swindon Audi
There was one at Wimbledon Audi when mine was in for its service last week. Its diff had gone bang and was in to be fixed; I'd be properly ticked off if I'd spent £100k on a car and the diff was up in smoke with handfulls of miles on the clock.
Poor sod was tootling about in a TDI as a result I think.
I'm going to disagree and day that I quite like the looks - the twin oval pipes in the rear are very menacing and it sits very nicely. The interior looks a lovely place too. This one was very deep grey, which I think helps.

You should have a go driving one 4's up at 165mph and still pulling fellas, warp speed doesn't come close.
Mind you the HUD made me feel sick - Nail you're right, that rear diffuser in black doesn't exactly make it look like a swimwear model's arse.
