Thinking of moving on.
Thinking of moving on.
As some of you may be aware my car has been off the road for a while due to broken chain tensioner. It is being fixed as we speak but I now am sort of in the mind of loss of confidence in the car. I'm toying with the idea of selling and moving on to something else. Had a look at a very nice 2003 tdi Range Rover today. I may well change my mind once I get the car back just wanted to get a few opinions on what other people think or what they would do in my circumstances.

Ive had 2 range rover td6's mate a 2003 and a 2005 facelift... the 2003 was problem after problem the suspension on them are terrible and it isnt cheap to repair also replaced the turbo and had to get the gearbox re-conditioned so after like £4k+ of fixing it the car ended up good but really check it out before you buy one mate cause parts arent cheap on them, im a bit like yourself when something goes wrong i plan on just selling it but once you get her back from the garage and drive it you will probably make the right decision
Re: Thinking of moving on.
Thanka for your insight. I had been looking at the V8 petrol ones too. Very nice cars but as you said could be another money pit. Been to see my car today. Engine is still out but all guides and tensioners are fitted ready to go back together. Am back in the mindset of keeping her once done. Better the devil you know. Now toying with gutting the pre cats while they are out!

Batfink, Don't do it.
Keep the S4 mate, will be perfect once you get it back. You know it makes sense, as you say, you could buy something else with its own whole set of issues, at least your S4 is sorted now.

Panic over. Am sticking with the S4. I will get the pre cats gutted at some point though. It would be rude not to.

Yep am staying put. I get like this from time to time. Have had the car just over a year so it was par for the course really. The engine problems just gave me an excuse. I will post up some pics the guy has for me of the damage once the car is back.
