40 amp fuse on top of the ecu?

so whilst i was trying to find out why the lecci windows was not werking after i had replaced the comfort control module i found a big fuse on top of the ecu that had blown!
does anybody know what this is for as i had not noticed that something was not working(other than the windows)!
