my highest MPG achieved

Post by toyneg » Tue Nov 05, 2013 1:32 pm

a pretty pointless post for this car but hey, I had a hundred or so mile trip and thought i would take it pretty easy as I was in no hurry. was pretty happy with the MPG returned. this is in no way normal practise however haha

What average speed was that? Very good mpg :)

I have a target now for when I get mine back on the road on a trip to Scotland.

Quite an impressive figure.

Noob owner question here, how do you change from miles to empty to MPG?

Only had a chance to have a quick skim through the manual.

Very impressive.

Best i have every got was a run down to the ring where i averaged 27 mpg at 80 MPH.

To scroll through the various trip computer options just click on the + and - buttons on the sterring wheel.

There are also two trip computers 1 for the current journey and 2 for all jouneries - click the select button to switch between them

In terms of miles per gallon per horsepower, the RS4 is actually very efficient.

415 bhp and 30mpg!

A mate had a v6 mondeo, 3.0 litre engine giving about 200bhp and struggling to get 25mpg, utterly pointless.

I regularly see 28 to 31 on my journey home from work (46miles each way) ...depends on the traffic if its light its normally light but steady 45 ish all single carriage way.
however in the morning there is less traffic and its more like 24 to 26

It doesn't get used that often because the Golf does 36 to 40 MPG

I don't exactly know how much this is because we count liters/100km. I have changed winter tires (19") onto my RS4 and been doing 10,5-11,5 liters/100km daily..when the official mixed consumption is around 13,5liters/100km. So now I know its possible to archive acceptable levels..but to do so you need to keep the revs below 4000rpm.. and that's no fun!

I have never seen over 25 mpg on mine ever. At 30 mpg you'll be coking up like a rock star!!! ;)

I had this car - the ST220 - avg 27 mpg so I changed to the RS4 instead. Beautiful car though but not as great as the ST24 I had before it. (ST220 was 222 bhp - 0-62 mph in 7.4 secs)

29 mpg is my best, at an enforced 50mph through extensive road works on the M1. But it was very boring. Usually between 21 and 26 on my daily commute depending on traffic. I don't worry that much about mpg now. Not much point in having an RS4 if you do! Just fill it up when necessary and carry on driving. And this from someone who used to be well impressed when his 335i used to manage 35mpg!

This is the best at 55-60 in steady moving motorway traffic.
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1383691401.512858.jpg
This is between 70-80

But my Mondeo ST Diesel at 138k ave 45-50mpg and is not afraid sticking at 90 all day, on clear run.
