Re: Kingfisher Blue ?
Looks very much like KF to me, WOW looks great.
I'm surprised someone went down the Exclusive paint route with an RS3 especially with Sprint being close - thinking about I don't recall seeing one in Sprint, Misano seemed to have taken it over as the chosen press car colour.

Re: Kingfisher Blue ?
There was no a single blue in the std pallette.
I.e, wanted any blue, it was exclusive...so might aswell go crazy blue...

Re: Kingfisher Blue ?
I went blue and paint dropped off. Won't be doing exclusive paint again.

Re: Kingfisher Blue ?
Strangely I prefer Kingfisher, bit different.
I did have the pleasure of working on a B7 RS4 Cab in Kingfisher with Silver Buckets which was a bit OTT but works on RS3

Re: Kingfisher Blue ?
It was an early 8L A3 colour, Top Gear magazine had one of the first A3s ever as a long term test car in that very colour.blackphantom wrote:I recently had the pleasure of detailing a friend of mines Cornflower Blue RS3{the only one in the country} its a strange colour heres a few photos i took afterwards of it in his garage and some that i took on a day out at the Powerstation of Tewkesbury when we went to a dyno day .
Looks like Nogaro in the pics, bet it doesn't in reality especially to a detailer!

Re: Kingfisher Blue ?
I think it's the same one as I saw it for sale and the Targa Florio had it, not sure if it was on sale or return but it wasn't cheap.TerryN wrote:It does look like Kingfisher Blue.

I replaced the mirror casings on it with genuine parts as the paint was peeling off, still got the old ones which hadn't been painted outside of the factory.
The last owner was in the army (female) and looked great in the car in her uniform with her long blonde hair!
It also had a vac leak fixed by Halesowen Audi as it was throwing all the lights on (yawn)

Cornflower blue NOT Kingfisher blue
The ONLY place this unique (only one) coloured Cornflower blue RS3 was advertised TerryN was on the DK Engineering website in October 2011, go see ://www.dkeng.co.uk/Vehicle_Archive/219/Audi_RS3.html
There is a reason as to why it was ordered in this particular colour but that need not be explained here, DK Eng know why.
I'd purchased the car within 48-hours of sighting (actually purchased within 48-hours of driving an RS3 demonstrator at Stafford Audi) and BLUEY was ensconced in my (Staffordshire) garage the following Saturday (22nd), and still is!
A fabulous motorcar and, having had the opportunity to drive/evaluate both the TTRS Plus and RS4 at Oulton Park last Tuesday, for me the RS3 remains a superb motorcar (that I'd not swap for an RS4, even).
