a question for those of you with 'factory bluetooth'

Post by sync24 » Wed Feb 13, 2013 10:16 am

Previous in my A4 S-Line I had the Audi Bluetooth module installed and my MFSW configured for it by Craig from TCL SAT NAV.
When the phone rang, my ringtone was heard through the speakers and I was able to answer the phone using the steering wheel button.

With my RS4 and 'factory' Bluetooth - I get a standard ringtone [IE it ignores the one on the phone]

Can anyone who has 'factory' Bluetooth in their RS4 confirm their Bluetooth behavior when receiving a call please? Is this a setting in the Vagcom?

Thanks

There's no ringtone setting you can change using VCDS, what ringtone you get depends on the phone - what you hear is what the phone sends via Bluetooth.

That's odd, when my phone rings I just get a 'ring ring' not my ringtone playing as set on my iPhone. My Bluetooth device id is Audi UHV 1178. In my wife's car it's Audi UHV 2837 [This has a genuine Audi OEM Bluetooth module installed]

I think the guy who had the car before me didn't install the Audi OEM Bluetooth module [or installed a cheap 3rd party one] and when I had the RNSE/AMI installed Craig [TCLSATNAV] left the Bluetooth module unchanged [even though I asked for it to be swapped out].

Dave - what is your Bluetooth Device called [assuming you have a Audi OEM Bluetooth Module installed] ?

I wouldn't having anything but a genuine Audi BT module (I have an 8P0 862 335 H module)- mine appears as Audi UHV 4791on my iPhone 5, and I get the ringtones I has set on my iPhone.

BUT when I used to have an Nokia N70 I only used to get "ring, ring" - with the same BT module in the car.

Hmmm - I have a custom ringtone on my iPhone 5, when mine rings in the car I get a default 'ring ring' - I will take a look at the module.

Thanks for checking.
