I will relocate the harness back straps to a roll cage when I get one fitted (I am aware that they are below the recommended safety angel).
Looking good sonny, that things going to be a weapon.

Could you rebolt on the isofix bar and attach the harness to that somehow? Might give you a better angle until cage time.

I don't think the ISOfix has a very good weight rating, unless you were being funny.

if its the black tube that bolts under the rear bench then I would not use it to mount two harnesses to as it will not meet the required safety requirements. Also it is only about 30mm higher than the inner bolts.

Bam are you still thinking about a track day project?

Yeah, I can't get past an MR2, it ticks all the boxes I'd like but after all the rain over the last quarter I can't help thinking AWD is more practical. However, getting an AWD operating in the 'fun' area of handling is not a challenge I'm up for.
That said, I have a lot on so I'd want something 90% done to my liking, not asking much, am I?

Sounds good to me, and no your not asking for much. This Clio will be run for 2 years before I change to a GT style track car ( not decided yet). AWD is fun, my RS4 did what I wanted it to on track making it a great car, however its the running costs thats the killer, otherwise I would have stripped the RS4....

Secondly I fancied a FWD car for the challenge, not had one since i owned a MK2 Gold 10 years ago.

The isofix mounting holes are IIRC M10 and will accept the regulation harness mounting eye.

I don't know how tall you are but 30mm might be enough to save your spine from being crushed in a nasty one!

Where have you mounted at the moment? Rear belt mounting? The angle looks narrower than that on your pic.

Looking forward to seeing pics on track

Yeah the mounting bars probably not quite thick enough, you'd have to attach directly to the anchor point.

Track day project, Clio 172 cup

Went to Snetterton last night for a tester session with the Clio.

Fantastic circuit, overall a little boring due to hardly no elevation changes but makes up for it in some really cracking corners.

The Clio was amazing, real fun and handled very well. It bit back a few times but caught it in the corners.

First time in the car and on that track and i pulled a 2.33 lap. Not bad and im happy with that.

Here is a clip of that lap, apologies for bad light it was due to a evening session and also the shaking due to the mouth the phone was on, im getting this looked into making it more stable.

Next mods will be lightweight battery and coilovers.

I was going to say you were on the parade lap but I thought that was a bit too harsh.
