Amar, wondering if you were pleased with the Milltek catless downpipes ? Happy with the way the car drives/sounds etc ?

Cheers

I've got a Milltek resonated catback and full Milltek catless DPs. The sound is perfect, there is no drone whatsoever and is as quiet from the exhuast as any brand new standard family hatch at motorway speeds, however, when I put my foot down one of DK's mates in his B8 S4 said he heard me then saw me take off, and he was about two car lengths behind. So loud when you want it to be and quiet when you don't, perfect.

I had it mapped and the downpipes done at the same time so I can't comment on the power of the downpipes alone but like York, I couldn't go back to a standard plus as it would feel very slow. Mihnea has transformed the car, if you slip it into fourth and push the pedal 1/4 the way down it is unbelievable. It is punch you in the kidneys quick now, before it was just quick.

I won't be putting cats back in and have no plans to sell the car so if anyone wants my old cats to gut (40k on them), make me an offer. I don't know any friendly MOT testers, but I'm sure it won't be hard finding one.

I can post graphs of my car with/without cats unmapped. It had less lag and more power.

Cheers Amar, sounds like you're pleased with the outcome.
Just to be clear, when you say your car now runs ' resonated catback + full Milltek catless dp's ' that's to say your main cats are still in place right ? I was under the impression that the Milltek downpipes specifically removed just the precats, (not the main ones),and so you should be OK come MOT time?
The reference to never intending to replace your cats implies the main ones (especially if finding a friendly test staion will be needed) - Maybe I'm not understanding correctly.
Pleased you've found the right balance between sound/performance :beerchug:

That's not the case as far as I am aware, the downpipes with the pre- and main cats are a single piece, the connection to the exhaust is after the mains.

Wow - Really surprised that runing zero cats would ever be described as being ' ...as quiet from the outside as a standard family hatch'.
Nice one!

Amar needs a nice mot man. That's why I'm just gutting the downpipes as I can't be arsed in swapping every year.
