Can you take out the warranty direct warranty for more than 1 year at a reduced effective annual cost?

Cheers

went ahead and took the policy with Warranty Direct.

So for £750 i get
Luxury cover on an 06 car (thanks RSLS)
Emissions, airbags, satnav and ICE all added at no extra cost
£0 excess
0% interest spread over 12 months
Can cancel at any time, monthly rolling contract
Main dealer labour rates (no cap)
Diagnostics covered.

Not bad me thinks :D

Sounds like a good deal. Did you have to have an inspection carried out.

No inspection required as i am still in my extended warranty period. I was told to keep proof of this in the event of a claim.
Just have to provide mileage, last MOT and last service date.

Sounds good, but I see you don't have the Catalytic Converters Covered!

I have just recently set-up my policy too, but your post has reminded me about one issue, so I've just phoned to confirm that the excess is zero (like yours).

Impressed with the cover - I spoke to them and they said they can cover cats for an extra £50. And dealer rates up to £200 inc VAT already covered.

The chappy told me the No1 issue with RS4's was ..... DRC. (46%). Then electrical, heating/cooling systems, transmission.

RS6's mainly suffering from gearbox issues.

Speak to Lauren (Audi Specialist) at WD on Extn.292 and she should be able to align the cover with that provided to other RS4 Owners.

Yes, it will cost just £50 more for the Cats. to be included - I have added this option.

Glad we shared our experiences RSLS - certainly helped to get a great deal.

Please can you confirm this, because if it's true I'll give them a ring and ask them to amend my policy accordingly!

I'm keen to ensure that we all pay an identical price for the same cover, then others can call and ask for the policy being used by members of 'RS246.com' and know exactly what they're going to get.

RSLS i can confirm that the cat. conv. is covered on my policy - just phoned up to check. Best get onto them hey!

On a side note if anyone is going to take out a WD policy they are offering a £40 recommend a friend bonus if they sign up. So if anyone wants to take advantage PM me and i will supply my policy number and share half the spoils which effectively makes the warranty cost £730!
Dont want to speak for RSLS but im sure he wouldn't mind doing the same either?

The WD warranty does look the best value, but I think I'll leave it for now. If almost half the claims are DRC related I'll wait until the 5yr extended Audi warranty for DRCs expires for my car and take the risk on the chin with the other, less common, faults.

Although each application is based on the age and mileage (total & yearly) of each individual car; it would seem that in a lot of cases an RS4 which is 4 years old or less can be covered for £750 per annum, with no excess. This is for Luxury Care cover and includes the following options:

4 Wheel Drive System
Emissions / Airbags.
ICE / Sat.Nav
Catalytic Converters.
Main dealer labour rates (no cap)

Plus: 0% interest spread over 12 Months

They aren't too strict on the 4 year age either - i have a June 2006 car and still got the Luxury cover - you have to ask though.

Did people take out the WD cover? Any problems with claims?
I have been offered an RAC platinum warranty for £770 which covers pretty much everything (but a £3k item limit) so am trying to compare the two.

Yeh i took it out - havent had the pleasure of claiming yet.

They are doing a few recommend a friend deals that will get you a little better value (one month free / £20 off) - PM me if you wish. Already done this for another forum member.
