I just fitted them to my 6 after they'd been sitting on my workbench for about 2 years - I'd completely forgotten I'd grabbed them to test.
Hard to see but the last pic is an old.pad sitting on top of a new one.

Phaeton pads? Good to know. I'm 99% sure that RS4 B7 pads are the same, too.
