Just tried fitting mine and every time I try to push back in the head unit it disconnects the blue tooth.
It seems the cable adaptors and unit itself are just to big to try and fit behind the RNSD.
When it is working it seems to play ok but the mic is not very good.
As has been said before I think the connectors are rubbish and every time I try and
use it some thing different happens.

What a load of rubbish, I have messed about with this for hours now and given up.
The blue tooth disconnected every time I touched a wire so I removed that and reconnected the cable which
goes in the bottom of the Iphone. This seemed to work ok for a while but I could not get the CD to work again.
I finally gave up and took the whole lot out. The CD and radio now work fine.

Right, thought I'd add my experience. I bought one without bluetooth to replace my Kensington LiquidShite.

I must say that I'm very happy with it. Does what it says on the box. Sound quality is excellent. It charges my iPhone 3G no problem. Steering wheel controls the iphone.

My only criticism would be that the Xcarlink to iphone cable is a bit short which severely limits the number of places you can put the module if you want the iphone in the center console (which I did). If it had been another 30cm longer, then I would have been able to put the module anywhere I wanted.

I bought one of these, with a bolt on unit to allow my Q7 satnav screen to work as a tv screen for DVD's, a rear parking camera etc. After 3 trips to a guy who I know is very good at auto/electrics to tr uand fit it all together he just couldnt get it to work. Instructions from the agent were <beep> and I ended up sending it all back to him for a refund. Didnt help me recover the £300 for the unsuccessfull install though......

It doesn't do video, maybe that's where you were going wrong ;)

Out of fairness to xcarlink, I think it's worth clarifying these points.

1. If the head unit is OFF then you'll get this message. As soon as you turn the head unit on, it'll charge the iphone as normal. You get the "this is not made for iphone, do you want airplane mode" but I get this with every single thing I plug into the iphone.

2. The xcarlink uses the CD changer slots to control the ipod. i.e. CD1 is the iphone where you have complete control over the iphone from the iphone. The sound comes through the stereo, and you can control the songs with the RNS buttons, steering wheel buttons, or the iphone.
CD2 to CD6 are the first 5 playlists on your iphone. When you select any of these, you DON'T have control from the iphone screen. Only the headunit or steering wheel.

It's miles better than the Kensington LiquidAux crud that I was using before.
