I don't think this is right. Can you point to any test where the 30-70 time is any different to an extract of the 0-100 time? If not, it would be a huge coincidence if the times were the same where they measured the 30-70 times by getting to 30 and flooring it, compared to measuring the 0-100 and extracting 30-70. In fact it would make the whole conversation above mute.Stuart6587 wrote:Autocar and I would therefore assume all car magazines test the same way:
30-70mph indicates overtaking ability through the gears
this is done by getting to and maintaining 30mph and then flooring it (kick down for autos) and is not done by doing a standing start from 0-100 mph

Does anyone actually have any 30-70 times? (that they know how they were measured)
;)

Right. I've just ordered:
2 DVs
1 N249
1 N75
(also an air quality sensor and siren, but that's a different story
)
I'm going to see if that makes any difference.
I don't think it's the MAFs because they're both reading similar amounts of air. Presumably the lambda sensors correct for the natural difference between their readings.
For info, here are my MAF readings. This might help someone else because I couldn't find any logs of them: (performed in 3rd and 4th)
EDIT: I must not have had my foot to the floor for this one. I did check the pedal position and throttle angle beforehand though and they are OK)

Changed the DVs. Made no difference. You can test the DV quite easily once it's out, I now realise...

I take it you're still waiting for the N75 and N249 to arrive? Have you checked the hoses?Shoppinit wrote:Changed the DVs. Made no difference. You can test the DV quite easily once it's out, I now realise...
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: Car feels slow... Oh no, it *is* slo
I've got the N75, but waiting for the N249. I don't want to remove the MAFs twice.
All the hoses look good. There's certainly no sign of damage. I'm reluctant to replace the vacuum hoses with silicone ones as I've heard a couple of stories about them collapsing.
I'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong with the N75 or the DVs, but they are so cheap it's rude not to really.

Hi!Shoppinit wrote:I'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong with the N75 or the DVs, but they are so cheap it's rude not to really.
If I may inquire, what is "cheap" actually. If have thought also of changing the N75 and the DV's on mine. Since I believe they are original and the car has done quite a lot of kilometers...

Where did you order them from? Some netstore? Hints for good price/quality ratio are welcomed!
Since sometimes mine feels "slow", like the turbo's have taken a vacation and then (like today) it feels like someone put dynamite under the bonnet...
Oh what a joy

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: Car feels slow... Oh no, it
They were all about 25-30 quid each. Got them from Audi. DVs were very easy to change. Bit fidly to get the hose clamb on the lower hose, but nothing impossible. For the N75 yo uneed to rmeove the airbox (see my DIY plug change topic).

Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: Car feels slow... Oh no,
Damn. Should have had this education before I had the car serviced in the summer. They could have changed the N75 while they were changing everything else (like the cambelt, waterpump, etc).Shoppinit wrote:They were all about 25-30 quid each. Got them from Audi. Well, have to do it myself then. Happily I have a good garage at work! The N249, where is that on the RS6? And is it again one of the valves that control the turbo's and the DV's? Gotta call Audi Stockholm tomorrow about the new dv's and N75 (and N249).
Would you mind taking pics and posting them with your experiences while you are changing yours (especially the N249). Having not toodled that much around the engine bay of my six, all the help is appreciated. Have already read your topic on the plug change - it was very informative! Thanks for that!
Btw. Anyone here changed their torsen fluids? In the front and in the back. Had my transmission serviced last summer as well, but thought it would be worth it to change those aswell.
PS.
I have found this thread and pic:

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: Car feels slow... Oh
i think the N249 is number 20:

It very accessible anyway. May not even be necessary to remove the airbox to get at it. I'll do it when I do the N75.
I'm also interested in getting the diff oil changed. I think I'll get AUdi to do it next time I get a service.
