I am sorry for your loss and do concur, silly thing to do... zero alcohol is the only way!
Anyway, agreed - case closed.
fair play to you mate for owing up and taking it on the chin and as you say it will keep the miles off

I have a rule if I drive I don’t drink could not live with the fact I might kill someone.
On that note if I knew a way to help I would as I'm sure you learnt your lesson but this is one field I have no knowledge of.

I seem to remember public stoning went out in the dark ages. So shut it.
er.... have you lost a good friend as a result of a drink driver? or someone who had a few then decided he was ok to drive? I unfortunately lost a very close friend in the Navy as a result of this..... so you think about that for a moment.
9 months and 500 quid fine..........
end of chat...ok
Er, yes I have, also had a friend killed by a joy rider who was out driving again 6 months later without a licence and was caught again after hitting someone else. However I like you are not the law; they are the only ones qualified to pass judgement even if we do not agree with it, so my comment stands.

So what were you doing in the Navy - delivering ice-cream? Or do the people killed by our armed forces not have 'good friends'?
Death is <beep> but it happens. Some die in their sleep, some are killed by drunk drivers and some are blown to bits by the 4.5in Vickers Mark 8 gun of a type 23 Frigate. In any case everyone is a victim of circumstance.
I think we should focus on the fact that Marcus' infraction was as SLIGHT as it could have been. Also he is man enough to admit it to ALL of us on here obviously aware of the possible character assasination, and not only that, he has taken the punishment given to him and I think he deserves respect at least for that.

Can someone please lock this - we're going nowhere (or even backwards) fast
If we want a pointless row let's have one on religion, the French or even (for our American friends) the "theory" of evolution - just not this...

I have worked on many of these sorts cases and sometimes a good solicitor and mitigating circumstances can help such as mental health issues or alcoholism which obviously occurs for underlying mental reasons.
Sure there is no excuse but identifying the underlying cause and an appropriate treatment can help prevent it happening again and judges appreciate that. There is nothing worse than a repeat offender who goes out and damages something or someone where the appropriate assessment in the beginning may have prevented the person reoffending.

It's alledged that I overtook a car crossing, double white lines and get this: the people who I apparently overtook actually stopped and went in to a police station to report me! Apparently because there were 2 of them in the car that's corroborating evidence. There was 2 of us in my car also and we say it didnt happen so whats the scoop? I watched road wars the other day and some little scumbag stole a car joyrode it all over the place racing around the cop cars eventualy crashing and he got a £75 fine and done for not having any insurance!!!!!!!! And they have the ordasity to pull up at my door and charge me because some wanker said I did something I didnt. The police really are filthy <beep> useless arseholes.
All this done in your SWAT machine? Do they not know who you work for?
