Can't see it being soon Tim, heard rumours of a stage 4 option from jhm. New bigger blower, is assume silly numbers. If that happens I'll 110% do it, maybe saki will chime in

Excellent Paul, massive progress since the turn of the year. Bottom end is now built, heads being started this week. Interior and sound system finished end of next week. I'm hoping it's all at Mrc 1st week in March then finished end of april

Think this is the most popular thread that Paul has ever started lol ;)
Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar

That's excellent. That's also not likely just a tune either. If he is picking up 170 hp I would guess he has an exhaust and intake modification and/or is using race gas if its just a tune.

As we saw from the jhm and apr sc rs4 when you add race gas these cars pick up about 4 to 5 mph trap soeeds and shave abother few tenths. Race gas turns the 11.4 at 125 mph mrc ran (gingerly as it was a customer car) into somrthing nearer 11.0 at 129 to 130 mph.

Not to mention...was it a pbox and not a certified dragstrip? (dragstrip trap speed , like dannys car at Santa Pod, measures the average speed over the final 66 feet of the track rather than terminal velocity which a pbox measures at 1320 feet' which is about 1.2 to 1.5 mph higher than trap speed)

Amar's tuned C6 at the 'Pod ran:
0-60 FT = 1.944
Reaction Time = 0.85735
1/4 Mile = 11.73305
Speed = 124.58MPH
Quicker than I thought. Just a tune though? Remember that was the contention of the fellow i responded to... "for £999 the C6 can have XXX..."

And at 778hp (220 hp over stock) if it is just a tune, again sounds like race gas. Despite this the RS6 is Still an easy 3 car lengths behind a TTS MRC RS4 on pump gas, about 6 or 7 car lengths behind a JHM or APR1740 RS4 on pump gas...and about 8 or 10 lengths back when the RS4s put race gas in. (At the traps you're moving more than a car length every tenth of a second)

Not insignificant to be 6 to 10 car lengths back. Have you ever lost a drag race by 6 to 10 lengths? I have. You're not thinking its close. You're thinking its a thrashing!
bam_bam wrote: I've got the sameish power (778HP) as Amar, less torque (867Nm) and a 6MT. I followed a TTS/MRC B7 at Castle Combe, I started out stuffing it into every corner thinking I'd get dropped, I wasn't dropped and I was very surprised that it wasn't too difficult to keep up, also, once on the straights I had to lift. These were all at speeds that "nobody cares about" (except the lifting on the straight). The B7 pulled off after three laps. If there was an advantage to the B7's cornering agility it would take a longer technical track to expose it. I'd hardly call that being filleted. By the way... I drive a C5.
Hard to compare here with so much driver skill coming into play on a road course vs the relatively easy rip through four gears in a drag race. Remember we were talking straight line speed to evaluate the cars . There's a reason top gear uses the stig...too many variables on the track. In drag races? They let any monkey drive. Even James May.

Good infornation all around though. Would like to see what a C6 with literally 'just a remap' can do at the strip on pump gas . The few I've seen are in the twelves. The ones on dragtimes.info in Russia are usually sporting many thousands in modifications and sre akmost always run on c16 or the like.

Pretty even id say.

If by pretty even you mean pulled away a car length or two from 0-100...i guess so.

PS that's not a tuned RS6...its making 200 hp over stock... So that's definitely not just a tune. Still got beat.

Ok Mr Pendantic....whatever.....I forgot your the forums "facts and figures" man.
Yes, why confuse the issue with facts lol.

Their intro kit is the Vortech V3 si with no intercooler, and at 6 psi of boost. About £5000. Around 525 hp, and best 1/4 mile was 11.6 @ 118 mph on uk 98 octane

Stage 2 is same blower at 8 psi with a large a/w intercooler and it makes around 600 hp, best 1/4 mile 11.12 @ 125 on uk 98 octane

After this there looks to be two options

A built motor and maxing out the vortech at likely 12 to 14 psi, making around 700 to 750 hp (the V3 si supercharger is massive)

A built motor with an even bigger blower...as funny as it siunds to say the v3 isn't big enough.

P.S. silas...go outside, do something you're good at and polish that robins egg blue lump you just bought. In fact shouldnt you and John Curry be heading over to Sochi to cheer on your boys at the figure skating? :)

No race gas.
Drag strip certified.
'Zoorst, filters, tune, GB map.
http://forum.rs246.com/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=96021

Slip photos are there too.
Either way, to me, there aren't a lot of supporting mods to get these figures. Filters, 'zoort and tune will get 750/950 out of the C6 all day long. You'll need to strap on a very good supercharger for the B7 to keep up.
On track (same driver) you'll need a long a technical track for the B7 to lose a C6... vice versa, the B7 would need a miracle or the C6 with brakes on fire before it'll get past, which is likely to happen.

Yes they're heavy, the 'box isn't the best but they deserve their 'Beast' moniker. If you're sat next to one a set of light, you'd better nail every shift because all the C6 boys have to do is mash the loud peddle while watching TV.
No matter where you go, there you are.

Having tracked a 750PS C6 at Cadwell Park, Its fair to say that a standard B7 would be faster, let alone a 'charged car! Never have I felt so fat!

But you're used to R8s and TTs.
The C6 would have an extra 300Nm over the B7, there'd be nothing in it but I know which would be more fun...

An extra 300nms and half a tonne! A supercharged b7 is way more fun than a tuned c6 is ever going to be let's be honest about that. Especially my old one with ceramics and all the suspension upgrades.

My Car, love the speculation, dodgy guy, dont like ++ in adverts bla bla bla.

To be honest, hats off to Danny, the car is fantastic, and only selling as i dont drive it. I think most people dont have the balls to spend the money to get a car like this to the way it is, or just dont have the money!

Spent a fair bit on it myself with MRC just getting wear and tear items sorted. Been offered 12k for the charger and brakes and exhaust with a swap over, tempting..... but a shame to brake. Would leave a well sorted RS4 with custom interior, colour and suspension.

Thanks
