low power !
I agree, and I appreciate there was an element of sales pitch as the chap had just bought a Dyno Dynamics, but as was explained to me there are virtually no parameters you can play with in shoot-out mode in an attempt to make results as comparable as possible.
FWIW we had a dyno day on that road twice and the cars that were at both and had no modifications in between (precious few admittedly) returned figures within about 1.5% year on year despite the weather being quite different (under 3bhp on circa 250bhp output). That suggested to me it was quite repeatable.

I've got a full milltek with no cats & a MRC remap , After doing some logs i've got a loss of 100mb of boost !

S2tuner - Id like to pick your brain if I may, i was wondering how accurate if at all the rule that HPx.8=Total G/s?
Also can the motronic's be tuned to allow different boost at different rpm range's? ie idle-3800rpm 1.0bar (2020mb) and 3900-redline 1.2bar (2220mb) to help the ZFHP24 survive a little longer.

Surely you manage boost through the revs by altering other parameters - there's a maximum the hardware can achieve but fuelling and ignition can be used to hold back from that maximum.
I'm trying to remember if even my Autronic SM4 can vary boost targets by rpm and I think it can, but I just had no interest in doing it.
What the Autronic can do is vary boost targets by gear which I think would be a lot more useful in protecting the transmission from the extremities of torque.

I understand exactly why you asked the question and my answer still stands - throttle position wasn't one of the parameters I had in mind. Boost is a function of the hardware but also the fuelling and ignition settings and it was those I had in mind.

torque is what you need to control, and the motronic only deals in torque. it would be relatively straight forward to alter boost (by fuelling/ignition) depending on the transmission range parameter. effectively you have another map for each relevant gear.
however this is not a feature of our setups and i have no idea of the ability of the motonic 7.0 to store and switch maps.

Motronic ME7.1.1 to be totally correct. And motronic works with torque but not quite exclusively, if you think that, it means you've spent too long reading the RS6 SSP

care to explain how one could possibly alter boost by fuelling/ignition please?? I'm not sure I understand what you mean with that...it would be relatively straight forward to alter boost (by fuelling/ignition

actually i don't believe it is mentioned in the ssp at all?S2tuner wrote:Motronic ME7.1.1 to be totally correct. And motronic works with torque but not quite exclusively, if you think that, it means you've spent too long reading the RS6 SSP

mmm, yes that wasn't very clear - i didn't mean that that is the primary way of controlling boost, the n75 is, clearly. i was thinking of the way the knock sensors alter the map in the ecu....care to explain how one could possibly alter boost by fuelling/ignition please?? I'm not sure I understand what you mean with that...
