did some runs last night...playing about with boost and timing with my SPS3...
running boost 6 timing 4 I got a FATs time of 5.19 seconds.

output from vagcome is:
http://badger.ing.me.uk/vagcomlog.html

I was logging blocks 003, 020, 115...(I know cylinders 5+6 are missing from that as they are in 021, but damn Vagcom only lets you log 3 blocks :) ).

so looking at that I can probably turn the timing up a bit, as there is no pull back...and maybe when I get time I'll watch temperatures some more too and turn up the boost slightly :)

Car is: 2000 S4 saloon, revo, milltek full system with cats, green panel filter.

road was flat, dry, outside air temp was 14.5 degrees.

David, these numbers look really good, they put you in the 345-350 HP range (pretty darn close to what I had guesstimated based on MAF readings) and that's still running your precats and cats!!!!

I guess getting rid of your precats should get you close to 365 HP, should be really good then....

By the way, I can't see much wrong in the way you've done the FATS runs, they are pretty consistent, and as long as you've done them on a flat bit of road, they have to be ok IMHO...

Cheers,

Mihnea

I'd like an MRC remap too but can't really justify it at the moment - my current DIS average speed reading is 16mph!

Mine is around 22 average, but just for the 30 seconds when you get an open road ahead, it's all worth it.

Thanks Mihnea.

I am happy with that. The calculator you linked to said 334 at the flywheel, why do you think it's more ? and what difference does the timing actually make?

I think I need to accelerate the downpipe / 200 cell cat plan a bit :-)

I did the logs on one piece of road, 3 one way, 2 in the opposite direction (of 2 & 3), then 2 more the same as 1 & 2. Pretty scientific for me.

I did a run in 6th from 2000 to 5600 rpm on the test track as well if anyone wants to see it.

David, what have you logged from 2 to 5.6k RPM in 6th gear? Feel free to email it to me...

Regarding the timing, I'll explain all this to you sometime soon ;) but for now I'd say your timing is good at WOT :D

cheers,

Mihnea

where are all the BIG boys numbers. I'm sure there are some built 2.7 engines ( Germany, Sweden, Poland and Norway came to mind) that have run under 3sec. I would like to see their logs or numbers.

Or how about some AMD stg3 numbers? If I can run mid 3 sec with ICs, exhaust, k04s and injectors I wonder how safe big ships are tuned and how unsafe my homebrew tuning is ; )

Looks like you have the fastest time of all

http://fats.audi-quattro.org/

Either you have loads of power (450BHP +) or a very light car....or both.

One thing to remember. there are much faster S4's who dont want to share their numbers!
