Just to clarify a few facts....
WBAC was started in 2006 and became part of the used car group Carcraft, but was bought by BCA in 2013. In 2015, the BCA group including WBAC was sold to Hamersham Holdings.
Not wishing to be a pedant, but as you suggest. In the interest of clarity, it's actually Haversham Holdings PLC (not Hamersham) and they decided to rename as BCA Marketplace PLC. So I stand by my original comment.

Yes you are correct - I incorrectly typed Hamersham Holdings instead of Haversham Holdings. I should have also put PLC after it.

As you say, the consortium Haversham Holdings (PLC being its full title) acquired the BCA Group of companies, including WBAC, and they have renamed as BCA Marketplace PLC. So I stand corrected as you are again correct

Although I wasn't entirely wrong....just omitted to mention the name change and had a slip of the digit!!

Average spec and ropey? It's your so called 'desirable' colour with average miles, Sports Pack, B&O, Black Styling, Tech Pack advanced - £38.5k. How much do you think they gave for it? I can ring Aidan at Shrewsbury Audi and ask him if you want me to find out (I know him very well), but I can tell you it would be £34-35k which is what I stated the trade value for an early 2015 car is. There's plenty of 2015 cars hovering around £40k (look on Autotrader), so a 14/14 car at £40k is over priced in the current market
This car is the one I was referring to in the other thread two days back, does look a bargain compared to others. Lots of extras
£1k taken off the screen price this weekend, so that's a 2015 car for £37.5k.

That is going to put a major strain on the finance company if folks are handing back/early terminating after half way. I've got gmfv of 33k based on 20k miles over 48 months. Halfway point is month 37. That means the manufacturer would be looking at a significant loss at either point. Gutted for them! ;)

2015 car at that price is cheap! 2yo 60k car for sub 40...I might buy a second! Ha

Wbac valued mine @ just under 42k 3 weeks ago. It had actually gone up circa 1k from last valuation.
2015 (not yet 2 years old) but only 5300 miles on it.
Going to sell mine soon but really have no idea where to price it at. Might just trade it against new car to save the hassle.

Strong money, especially for WBAC. They'd knock it down, of course.

I've priced a couple of 2014 cars via WBAC.All have come back under £35k.Not the £37-£40k they have been advertised at !
No wonder they are not selling.

I don't think you have much hope of getting a good car anywhere near the WBAC value. I just put mine through and it's 31k. That's 10k less than i bought it for 6 months ago. Looking on audi approved i would be at what i paid for an equivalent one.

You're comping 'trade' price with private/dealer prices. There will always be a gap in price to a private sale, then a dealer sale, it's how much of a gap that matters.

You're right though, car's with a 'trade' price of sub £35k will never sell at £40k, hence my original points in this thread about the car the OP posted.

That's true the point being that they are marked up by roughly £3-£5k,if the dealers were a bit more realistic with their prices they might get some interest and a better negotiating point.
I know they are in the business of making money however some are just being greedy.
As for private sales, I know where most owners are coming from they have paid a lot of money for a quickly depreciating asset. I lost out big time on an M4 a couple of years ago and really don't want to go down that road again.

I'm actually going to stick up for the dealers here. That mark up isn't pure profit. They have to cover staff/location, warranty, and bodywork repairs as well as tyres, service etc etc. They can easily spend a couple of k on that even at cost.

The dealers will ask the price they think they can achieve. I am not really sure what you're getting at!

Indeed - a franchised dealer will always be the most expensive because they have to cover costs:

- Warranty cost
- Prep & full check
- Replace a couple of tyres or pads or etc
- Forecourt depreciation over a couple of months
- Purchased haggled price
- VAT the dealer pays on any profit
- Salesman commission
- Costs to group for showroom etc

I know an Audi dealer now has to buy a warranty (from Audi) for a car regardless of it still being in the 3yr warranty period, so that cost is built into used car prices.
