Is it an Audi aftermarket iPod connector (white connector) not ami.
If so, that was my problem. I removed the connector and plugged the cd back in an everything showed up ok.

Re: Vcds ordered
There is only one port, the one you've found above the throttle pedal. That has connections to both K-lines (K and K2) and the CAN bus, so if you're using a dual K-line plus CAN lead you should be able to see all the ECUs in your car - unless there's a fault.dave635 wrote:Where is the 2nd port ?

Thanks Brn7y, its a white connector & Audi comes up on the Ipod screen when connected. Is this connector removed at the changer or behind the RNSE unit ?
Thanks PetrolDave, also got confirmation from Ilexa that the dual K cable does in fact just have one connector. Looking like the Ipod cable is the culprit.
cheers

It is changed at the rear of the unit so you need to remove it.dave635 wrote:Thanks Brn7y, its a white connector & Audi comes up on the Ipod screen when connected. Is this connector removed at the changer or behind the RNSE unit ?

Re: Vcds ordered
update, once i got correct removal tools from Audi & threw away the ebay ones that didn't work....I removed the RNS-E unit & disconnected the Ipod interface. Reconnected the CD changer & now all fine & i can talk to the RNSE. Thanks for the advice. I have changed the startup screen to the RS4 option. Another question on this now pops up, since i have the CD changer online again I thought i'd use it, loaded 6 CDs & hit random play. The system just plays the tracks randomly on 1 CD at a time, in my previous A4 (2002 model) with the same changer (more basic head unit) it played all 6 discs when on random play. Anyone experienced this ?
Cheers
