I keep watching this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAxjSh3UdJs which gives me a minor crisis each time I play it.

Thanks everyone for your input - much appreciated.

Owners seem to fall in love with these cars, it's hard to think of anything which could replace it in terms of looks,
power, torque, practicality, subtlety (when caked in mud with a 1.9 TDi badge on the back ;) ),
handling (which you have to admit is pretty good for a heavy car),
equipment (as standard it is loaded - why is everything an option on new cars these days?)
etc etc.

It is a winning combination which will hopefully keep you amused for a long time! :D

Congrats JerseyMatt. Now you need Hotchkiss ARBs, get rid of DRC, get the big brake kit, phaeton cooling, gearbox remap....for starters. Then buy a Miltek, replace RNS-D, get carbon inserts, etc and open an investment fund to finance the beast.

You may also need to have your monthly expenses sent to a (secret) new account so your wife doesn't give you grief - because at some point she will!

A1 on St Clements did the suspension work but cocky attitude, late, and left me annoyed. I would recommend Steven at Oakhurst for all your non warranty work. He is about to fit the big brake kit and phaeton cooling for me. Very professional and takes real pride in his work.

Buy the parts yourself from Unit 20 though. Grizz will always ensure you buy the correct bits.

Jacksons for servicing to maintain the warranty.

Wouldn't recomend jacksons for nothing after two years of them of cocking up the wifes mini they have finally cheesed me off too. Took it in last week to get diagnosed, it was a seal on the gearbox but not the rear drive seal that it maybe i had found out from here so they ordered parts and booked in for today. Got the phone call this morning to say they havn't got the part they needed as it was the rear seal thats gone (what i said in the first place) and have had to order it. But here's the pee me off part, back order of nearly three weeks so one week wasted because of them messing about and not doing there job. So told him i'm not driving the car as leaking box oil isn't a good idea and said i'd hold them responsible if it went in the future. He quickly said i could keep the power house of the merc A class until the car is repaired. Not the point had the car 4 months been off the road for 1 of them and how can someone find out off the internet what it probably is better than the stupid so called technician who's looked under the car. Probably meant him getting his hands dirty rather than just plugging in the VAG machine and deleting a few codes. This RANT could go on forever.

Welky very intresting about you getting the coilys done over here think a little meet might be in order when i eventually get mine back :beerchug:

when anyone asks me about running an RS6 I just point them to the spreadsheet I've kept since I bought the car (there's a copy in the "Unofficial Buyers Guide" sticky) and I've added at least another two and half grand to it since that was posted. And it's all still standard - I'd love to replace DRC and exhaust just as a starter but something always breaks before I get to spending my DRC fund... :-(
