Whats the clutch hose issue as mine can sometime smell hot?reevesroadster wrote:Well I wouldnt trade the RS4 for a C63 - having driven both and compared them together on the road.
Mine is an Avant, so arguably slightly slower than a saloon - but I did find a standing start harder due to the launch issue described above. It actually seems that the clutch hose issue is the problem with my clutch, and I didnt cook it after all.
To try and provide some comparable straight line performance, the C63 pulls away from the Audi like the Audi would pull from most other cars in this range. The rolling produced less of a difference, but the biggest difference in performance came when he C63 was in auto sport mode.
I have to add that I havent had mine on a rolling road so cant tell how many horses its producing, although it doesnt seem slow - and wasnt slow against djcevo's remapped RS4 saloon.
We may get a chance to compare them in the wet, but Im not praying for rain while we have this good weather. Wouldnt like to put a C63 touring round any corners in the wet!!

Don't forget guys that the reason I started this post was because a guy I know wishes he still had his RS4 over his new C63.
No disputing that the C63 with its extra 10% of power is faster on a straight and dry road but as I said before, when raced on dry circuits by the top gear team (stig drove the cars) the C63 and RS4 posted identical times and it was a two and a half minute circuit as well
On a wet circuit the Merc would be miles back!
Autocar had the C63 1 second faster than the RS4 in the dry and the RS4 was 5 seconds faster in the wet........ now what car would you rather have,
one that's fast in a straight line or one that's fast in a straight line, round corners and in the wet!? Easy really isn't it!
Remember also that an idiot in a RS4 will hammer any driver in a golf GTi but an idiot in an RS4 racing an accomplished driver in another RS4 would probably be left for dead, not because the cars are different right
