I've only just found the web-cam! They only hold the pics for 2 weeks so I'm gutted as I'd've looked for mine if I'd known :(

That looks not bad at all mate ... someone commented about getting the numberplate letters laser cut out of the plate, so the air can pass through. The black from behind makes it look like a normal plate ...

What did you do with the steel bar behind the plate?

I have looked at this and wondered about weakning it ...

PS, just done this last night, follow your suite and painted the intercooler and pipes, plus used some black mesh instead of the audi plastic to protect the oil cooler and intercooler, looks not bad at all actaully ... not a great pic tho ...

Thanks to steph for the meal below! The other reason you got to the ring.

And to everyone who gave me left over tickets - neil, damian, simon and the other ones I acquired! Never paid anything for the below.

(and if you wash your tickets, as long as you can still read the code on them, they will replace them!)

Are they like track day tires for the road? They seem to have a lot of tread on them?

wow, 0.5 degree's, nice and cold then!!

rich - I chopped the ali bar out so it is really just one sheet in there.

I have a customer with the plate you describe on his car with a fmic - it works well - I shoudl have a source for geting them done soon - just waiting to see how good he does them.

As for noise - the uk registered atom was louder than me - and he had his car sound tested - still got to go out - I felt sorry for hi missus in that over the weekend! I was not silly driving out of the pay station and parked in teh spill over carpark so never got pulled. But they were pulling cars off the paystation to sound test this time.

I tried to get the track tyres but these were all I could get at short notice. they literally are off the front of 2 R8s. I can get 235/35x19s off the demo cars.

It was really cold! Luckily it was dry enough on monday. I think we are down to 8.45 with the carousel slow because of work.

got to the point where I was not thinking about what corner was coming up - and starting to get scared at the points were I should be going flat out. ALl teh braking points change becasue you start coming into customer so much faster!!

I just love that point where you start to know the track and things just move up a pace!!!

So you think you remember it all now? Could you drive it in your head?!!?

So, you have no ali bar in the bumper anymore???! that must reduce the weight by a little as well??? Safety??

God, I am hungry this morning, and looking at that steak did not help! :P

Noticed your bumper cut-out in the gate pic. Getting down to a pretty good time there...was that BTG? Pretty certain the quoted lap time for an S4 is around 8.42 mins and 8.24 for the RS4, and they are with pro drivers behind the wheels. Are we all going back in April? I most definitely am!!

jb7_uk wrote:we worked out it could be done on the cheap like this:

Ferry - Dover Dunkerque (Norfolk line) - £60
Petrol (dunkerque - nuburg) - 275 miles - £60 (pesimistic estimation)
Camping @ Camping-am-nurburgring - £11 per night * 2 nights = £22
Food at local cafe's and restaurants (Pinochio's in Adenau is great!) = £30 per day * 2 days = £60
8 laps of The Ring (19 Euro per lap = 152 Euros) - £106
Petrol for your laps (8x14miles = 112 miles) but i'd reckon on a full tank for that - £60
Petrol nurburg to dunkerque - 275 miles - £60 (pesimistic estimation)

so on the cheap your looking at ..... £430 ish plus petrol from your home to dover.
What about insurance and break down recovery ??

4 laps to a tank of fuel!

I am not remembering all the track but I found I was not thinking about the next corner for a lot of them.

Definitely get the adac cover - it is a lot of abuse on these cars - and I had a few twitched in flat out 4th gear corners - if that went wrong it would be carrying bits back.

I just have the top part of the ali bar - flat across the top of the bumper.
