51k seems OK considering too, perhaps try and squeeze another 500quid and put it down to experience? Not that you should have to of course!

You're doing a sensible thing. After my parent's house was broken into the other night to nick my cars (using their drive whilst our's is being paved), I feel pretty crap about owning the beast that scum want to steal. I'm still in two minds and I'm prepared to lose my deposit upon cancellation without regret.

I'm asking the dealer to LMK the mirror-mirror span of the car in metres (unless any of you helpful folk already know??)... if it won't fit through my garage door, I 'aint having it, period. Then I'll cancel the order and look for a newish S4 Avant with folding body coloured mirrors or an RS6 with similar spec.

Davey B you have PM.. am working on this for you..
Shame to see the car go specially after a long wait etc.. but at least you can still get back decent money for it.. Mr. Audi will have sold it before they even put the phone down to you! Probably at or above list, for an already dealer ready car no doubt.. so don't accept this low bid.. ive put the details about to some people i know who may be interested in taking a punt on the car .. so i'll let you know, send me your contact details though, so i can pass your number on..

For dimensions, click the back picture of the RS4 at the bottom, says its 1933 mm in width mirror to mirror..
Shame to be selling these cars.. but if you're family safety is at issue, then its probably the best thing..
I think keeping them out of view and away from the prying general public eyes would be best.. in the garage overnight and when at home.. fit some electric motors to your garage also..

Damn.. am hearing bad stories about RS4's going missing all over the place..

Worst one so far, guy approches zebra crossing, man steps out in front of car to stop him, another approaces window, with double barrel sawn off under a jacket (in a main bloody busy shopping area of a city centre in broad daylight!!).. definitely getting tints all round, tracker echo and some bloody flame thrower thingies from south africa that shoot out from under the sides.. oh and a magnum .55 to keep next to my keys...

Not to add fuel to the fire, but I was followed last night by 4 guys in an Escort.

I was about a mile from home the Escort was coming the other way, I noticed the passenger pointing at my car. Looked in my mirrors and they did a u-turn and were behind me. So I drove straight past my house and took a left, they followed. So I went on for about 1/2 mile and in busy traffic dived down a road (right hand turn across oncoming traffic) without signaling so they had no chance of getting across.

Looked in mirror and they had to carry on but all four were looking at me. So I went down the road, waiting a couple of minutes then came back out. As I approached the junction they drove across the junction in the opposite direction, but didn't seem me (I think). So I hung back and waited a little longer.

Made my way home without incident. Unfortunately my wife was with me and this has really shocked her. She never thought owning an RS6 could bring with it this sort of problem. We parked the car on the drive and block it in with her car. My wife suggested taking the keys to bed with us, but I said just leave them in the kitchen I'd prefer they'd just take the car and leave us alone. One sleepless night later, car is still there, but this isn't what ownership is meant to be about.

Dave, i was at a dinner on Saturday night and my brother in law (Gecko on here) was talking about his misfortune last monday and we were talking generally about these incidents and one of the guys who works for KPMG (at the moment anyway - i think (changes jobs frequently)) said this happened to one of the partners from London in Birmingham City Centre.

So many thoughts are flying through my mind at the moment, debadging and rebadging with 2.0FSI for definite (you never know may fool the amateurs), Tracker Echo, keys left on stairs downstairs to protect us, Garaged, remote electric motor being fitted next week to save me getting in/out of car. Gap insurance a definite, Tints definite, maybe that paragon protective sheeting stuff, and generally being VERY VERY paranoid when driving about.. am quite paranoid anyway, and think at least we are driving cars that could outrun most kev mobiles.. even had someone tell me to buy a semi automatic blank firer to keep at home, so if anyone runs in with a bat, they will get the fright of their lives, but am thinking this may be a silly idea and may draw more trouble then its worth, i would rather fold and let them have what they came for if they are that desperate who knows what they may do, i don't want to endanger the lives of my parents or anything or scare them, so best they have what they came for.

ADT alarm system ive heard is a good idea, isolating downstairs system at night, floodlighting all round exits, and having CCTV may make a good deterant. Its stupid its come to this, but by cars becoming that secure no wonder its easier for them to take the keys!

I was very close to cancelling/selling the imminent RS4 and going for an S4 Saloon/Avant.... but after reading what happened to rs666 and his wife the other night... bloody hell!

What colour is your RS6 rs666? I was thinking of getting an Avus Silver S4 so the mirrors don't look so obvious... or whichever S4 I go for, I'd have the door mirrors painted.
